  • Help define the hottest issues of the day with petitions on the issues you are passionate about;

Compensation: Compensation is per petition. The fastest-growing petitions will be promoted to engaged members within Care2’s community of roughly 30 million members and across our social media properties. Especially compelling petitions may be pitched to the media with author involvement.

Location: This is a freelance position. You can set your hours and work from home. Openings are available globally.

Responsibilities and Objectives:

  • Independently monitoring news sources for progressive social change opportunities and pitching petition ideas for posting on the
  • Researching issues to develop petitions with meaningful calls to action and strong theories of change.
  • Writing concise and compelling petitions on local or global causes that you (and our 30 million progressive members) care about, including: animal welfare, protecting the environment and wildlife, international affairs, economic inequality, LGBTQI issues, women’s issues, human rights, corporate accountability, education, health, politics, and more.
  • Light image editing for graphics used in your petitions


  • Creativity, passion, tenacity, and a desire to make a difference.
  • Ability to write awesome headlines and powerful stories about the issues you care about.
  • Self-discipline and the ability to work independently.
  • Photo editing and graphics skills are a plus.
  • Advocacy, political affairs, digital marketing, or public relations education or experience are a plus.

UK Client Services Associate

Here are the key responsibilities for your new role:

You have 2 or more years experience working in the charity sector or an agency that works with charities. You have excellent client service skills, and you enjoy interacting with different people throughout the day, both team members and clients, via phone and email. You are organized and able to work effectively with minimal supervision, but you enjoy collaborating with team members as well. You have incredible attention to detail. You’re flexible and willing to change strategy when necessary. You have a basic knowledge of HTML and the ability to learn new systems quickly. You have a dedication to Care2′s mission to make a difference in the world.

Director, Business Development

Job Description: Care2 is currently seeking a new, entrepreneurial-minded Director of Business Development based in Europe (preferably Germany, France, Italy or Spain) or the United States. The Director will market and sell Care2′s services to both sustainable corporate brands and to nonprofit organizations, as well as to the agencies that serve these organizations, while identifying new strategic growth opportunities. The successful candidate will have several years of experience successfully selling products or services to nonprofits, or in a related consulting field, and will have a wide network of industry contacts. Previous consulting, nonprofit, fundraising or online experience is also a plus. Previous experience developing cause-marketing campaigns in which nonprofits and for-profits join forces is also a plus.


  • Identify new opportunities with nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and with agencies that serve them — including direct mail, interactive marketing, consulting and public affairs firms
  • Prospect and forge new relationships to boost the number of nonprofits that Care2 serves
  • Meet face to face with clients regularly to strengthen relationships, boost awareness of Care2 services and obtain referrals
  • Meet individualized quarterly and annual growth targets
  • Monitor the success of campaigns and work with Care2′s campaign team to manage overall client satisfaction by meeting or exceeding client expectations at all times
  • Represent Care2 at industry conferences and networking events, including via speaking engagements
  • Maintain detailed records of contacts at nonprofits, and at the agencies that serve nonprofits; carefully log all encounters with clients and potential clients; keep in-depth history of issues raised by them and solutions provided by Care2

PHP Software Engineer is seeking an exceptional high level PHP engineer to positively impact the world around us on daily basis.

The right candidate will have 7+ years of LAMP environment experience developing and maintaining complex websites and backend tools as well as a strong mid-level set of skills and expertise in MariaDB/mySQL administration. The right candidate will have hands on experience as a key contributor to the growth and evolution of technologies and systems authored in PHP/mySQL. In addition to PHP and mySQL skills, experience with Redis and ElasticSearch will be key in our effort to build out a scalable infrastructure. We are not looking for somebody to maintain the status quo. We need your skills to help us reshape and improve our systems using industry best practices.

Engineering Responsibilities:

  • Develop PHP/MySQL code to meet the continued business needs of new site features and refinement of existing functionality.)
  • Define and contribute to the creation and maintenance of internal systems supporting the company’s various departments
  • Identifying and rectifying coding issues as bugs in new or existing tools surface.
  • Contribute to architecture direction and discussions, and assist in the progressive evolution of our existing code base.


  • 7+ years of ongoing daily engineering experience working with PHP and MySQL.
  • Work experience developing software in a business environment, preferably with Linux/UNIX/Apache.
  • Excellent problem solving skills, a firm grasp on algorithms, and able to find and implement simple, modular, scalable solutions.
  • Engineering experience managing WordPress as a CMS is a plus.
