Web Developer – Nonprofit Campaigns – Redwood City, CA

Reporting to the Campaigns Director, the Web Developer will help support and develop the tools our team uses to make Care2's online campaigns a success for a wide range of leading environmental, animal welfare, and progressive organizations.

The Developer will extend the capabilities of Care2's online campaigning and email marketing tools and develop custom solutions for unique campaigns. He/she will also work closely with Care2's product development teams.

Care2.com is looking for an Online Campaigns Associate who will work with other Care2 campaign staff to craft successful online campaigns for leading nonprofits targeting Care2 web visitors and e-newsletter subscribers with the aim of increasing membership, raising money and driving community participation.

Care2.com is seeking an exceptional high level PHP engineer to positively impact the world around us on daily basis.

The right candidate will have 7+ years of LAMP environment experience developing and maintaining complex websites and backend tools as well as a strong mid-level set of skills and expertise in MariaDB/mySQL administration. Our needs are primarily for a PHP developer who can provide us with about occasional DBA engagement as needed. PHP Engineer For QA/Build/Release Automation

Care2 is looking for an Automation Engineer to drive the implementation and conversion of manual Build, QA and Release processes to a predominantly automated solution. This role requires an experience engineer capable of building out the initial framework required to enable our QA AND engineering team to drive continuous software quality initiatives by authoring and maintaining regression test suites against our production, stage and testing environments. You will work closely with the QA, engineering and operations resources to identify and author automated test cases/scripts. You will build out a system to perform continuous validation of production and stage systems, confirming that business logic and client facing features always behave as expected. Petitions Writing and Social Media Internship (Paid) – Redwood City, CA

Care2.com is looking for an intern to help with writing, petition promotion, social media and graphics creation. As part of our team, you'll help to promote online advocacy campaigns that reach millions of people and will research and write content on the most pressing issues in the news and in the activist community. You'll work on campaigns to defend human rights, call out corruption, protect our environment and wildlife, and much more.

The ideal candidate is a very strong writer who understands current online trends, is passionate about promoting progressive causes, and enjoys engaging with an online community on advocacy issues.

Your tasks will include:

  • Monitoring the news for actionable items and trends in the activism world;

Job Description:

Care2 is currently seeking a new, entrepreneurial-minded Director of Business Development based in Washington, DC (Flexible). The Director will market and sell Care2's services to both sustainable corporate brands and to nonprofit organizations, as well as to the agencies that serve these organizations, while identifying new strategic growth opportunities. The successful candidate will have several years of experience successfully selling products or services to nonprofits, or in a related consulting field, and will have a wide network of industry contacts. Previous consulting, nonprofit, fundraising or online experience is also a plus. Previous experience developing cause-marketing campaigns in which nonprofits and for-profits join forces is also a plus.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify new opportunities with nonprofit and for-profit organizations, and with agencies that serve them -- including direct mail, interactive marketing, consulting and P.R. firms
  • Prospect and forge new relationships to boost the number of nonprofits that Care2 serves
  • Meet face to face with clients regularly to strengthen relationships, boost awareness of Care2 services and obtain referrals
  • Meet individualized quarterly and annual growth targets
  • Monitor the success of campaigns and work with Care2's campaign team to manage overall client satisfaction by meeting or exceeding client expectations at all times
  • Represent Care2 at industry conferences and networking events, including via speaking engagements
  • Maintain detailed records of contacts at nonprofits, and at the agencies that serve nonprofits; carefully log all encounters with clients and potential clients; keep in-depth history of issues raised by them and solutions provided by Care2
  • Track sales activities using Salesforce.com tools
  • Present new business ideas to the management team and help lead strategy discussions
  • Demonstrate individual and project management leadership within Care2
  • Help to establish alliances with other for-profits and Internet companies serving nonprofits
  • Be a thought leader at Care2, joining other sales team members in contributing to the formulation of our sales and B2B marketing strategies as well as to overall company strategy
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Several years of successful experience working with nonprofits in a sales, business development or marketing role
  • Demonstrated ability to think on your feet, and to negotiate and close successful partnerships
  • Strong active listening, relationship building, consultative selling and client management skills
  • Proven ability to establish and manage lasting, mutually beneficial business partnerships
  • Network of contacts with leading nonprofits and agencies serving nonprofits
  • Self-starter, dynamic and able to thrive in an unstructured environment with minimal supervision
  • Superb writing, presentation and public speaking skills, and ability to interact effectively with teammates
  • Real interest in the environment, social justice and socially responsible entrepreneurship
  • Strong work ethic and effectiveness at working collaboratively
  • Ability to work quickly under pressure and multi-task
  • Willingness to travel when necessary for in-person sales calls and industry conferences
  • A college education
  • Mastery of Word, PowerPoint and Excel

Job Description:

Care2 is seeking a Business Development Manager to play a key role in supporting and constantly improving the sales and marketing activities of Care2's Business Development team. The Manager will report to the Vice President of Business Development. The Manager's activities will help generate and evaluate sales leads from professional conferences, from Care2-hosted webinars and offline events, as well as from Care2's blog, business-to-business (B2B) website and other sources. Prior experience interacting with nonprofits is a strong plus, as is any prior involvement with online marketing, advertising, fundraising or advocacy. This is a full-time position based in Washington, DC. Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and improve Care2's B2B website (www.care2team.com) including by promoting marketing content for the site, such as case studies, and white papers
  • Optimize the attraction and capture of leads on our B2B site, including by tracking web visitor activities using software tools
  • Drive traffic to the B2B site via search engine marketing, social media and other approaches
  • Create and send promotional email messages to Care2's email list of clients, leads and partners; this includes promoting Care2's ongoing series of expert webinars and "Care2 101" webinars
  • Maintain calendar of nonprofit sector conferences and ensure that Care2 Business Development team is alerted in advance to deadlines for speaking opportunities
  • Evaluate specific nonprofit sector conferences to determine whether Care2 should attend, sponsor or exhibit at them and take the lead in negotiating and processing sponsor and exhibitor agreements with conference organizers
  • Handle all logistics for Care2's presence at conferences, as well as for Care2-hosted events, ensuring that all necessary exhibit materials and collateral are delivered to proper destinations
  • Produce marketing and sales collateral and exhibit booth materials
  • Evaluate and implement Salesforce.com features to help the Business Development team
  • Assist newly arrived employees by helping them with hardware setup and software licensing, and by helping to train them in using team resources and procedures
  • Play a leading role in planning and executing occasional events, as assigned, for Care2's clients, prospects and partners
  • Assist with planning and conducting team meetings and outings
  • Interact with vendors regarding office and event services (e.g. telephone, Wi-Fi, catering)
  • Take the lead in recruiting interns, showing them our tools and processes as needed, and then managing their time to provide value to Care2 and educational value to the interns themselves
  • And other activities as assigned

Requirements:

  • SA college degree. A degree in business, marketing or communications is a plus;
  • Interest in the environment, social justice and other causes;
  • Prior sales or marketing experience is a plus;
  • A familiarity with the nonprofit sector is a plus;
  • Ability to work quickly under pressure, multi-task and pay attention to detail
