Job Description:
Care2 is currently seeking a PHP Developer to join our team and help continue the legacy of excellence. You will be in integral member of the team working on all aspects of our system, from new products and technologies to diagnosing issue with our legacy code.

Responsibilities:

• Participate in design and definition phase of projects.
• Work alone or in small teams to complete task on time.
• Rotational assignment to diagnosing user issues on installed code base.
• Document your code for future maintenance.

Requirements:

• 3-5 Years Experience with PHP4/5
• Familiarity with Smarty/Zend
• Solid working knowledge of MySQL
• Version control CVS/Git
• XML (schema and instance)
• Familiarity with development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Extreme)

Causes Bloggers

Description: 
Care2 is seeking experienced freelance bloggers, in Canada, the UK and the US, to join our outstanding crew, whose products garner over 3 million page views and hundreds of thousands of comments each month.

Posts, in any of the 12 Causes issue areas,* should appear anywhere from daily to weekly to (in rare cases) occasionally. Care2.com is recruiting new interns to help us spread the word about the great work our nonprofit partners are doing on Care2, bring progressive, green people to Care2 to take action, and bring Care2 to people who care about making a difference - wherever they are online. We are also recruiting interns to work with our progressive blogging channel, Care2 Causes.

You are a strong writer, savvy about social networking, passionate about nonprofit issues, comfortable with HTML and web graphic production, and enjoy promoting progressive issues and engaging with an online community on issues ranging from environmental to consumer protection, human rights to animal welfare. These internships will begin in early September.

As a Care2 Campaign Intern, you will:

• Support the Care2 campaign team's efforts to provide fast and high-quality advocacy, membership recruitment and fundraising campaigns for nonprofit clients
• Research progressive legislation in Congress and urgent advocacy topics, monitoring news and blogs daily for compelling campaigns;
• Write and edit Care2 action alerts, newsletters and blogs;
• Monitor social media outlets to better understand how users are talking about and using Care2, and for which issues people are passionate about;
• Communicate with Care2 activist petition authors to help them promote their petitions;

Internship Qualifications

• Student actively enrolled in coursework and seeking to complete school internship credit in a relevant field (such as journalism, marketing, political science, women's studies, environmental studies).
• Strong writing and editing skills.
• Knowledge of social networks and social media tools including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, StumbleUpon, Digg and MySpace.
• Proficiency in HTML and web graphics production using Adobe Photoshop and/or ImageReady
