Wholesome Maple Walnut Squares
By the Care2 Green Living Staff

The maple sap is flowing and the sugar shacks are humming. So in a nod to sap season, we thought we'd share a recipe for one of our favorite maple treats. Imagine pecan pie, but pecan pie you can eat with your hands, and that has walnuts instead of pecans, and a strong blast of maple. Doesn't that make you happy? A Note From Annie
03/27/08
We think that the real heart of green living is its true beauty—its beauty for the planet, our bodies, our enjoyment of life. And there is no better way to really understand this than with food, and for today's issue, spring food. You bite into a freshly picked sweet and tender organic pea, or drink maple sap straight from the bucket, and you are awashed with the vibrant essence of life and flavor. You can never look back! This issue honors the spring foods, foraged and grown. We also offer you another great installment of the Galland family's food blog.
