I love having a local "NO-KILL" shelter that truly cares about the animals. STAAR definitely deserves this $15,000 so they can continue doing what they do best. They are a smaller shelter in in need of donations!!

It does a brilliant job

I got my dog from STAAR over ten years ago after she had been abused and they were treating her so well.She is the best dog I could've asked for, and they saved her from being killed. They don't let a dog die just because it isn't a cute puppy.

i love STAAR because they are a no-kill shelter and Sharon (the overseer) is the so giving and personable to all the animals. this group needs to have a new building for the animals to live in and deserves it for babies no one else would ever care for! this shelter deserves the 150000 dollars so it can continue to provide a loving home for those waiting for a "furever" home and adoption!!!!! vote please!

STAAR is a wonderful no-kill (truly no-kill) where our furry friends can either find a new home or live out their life with tender loving care.

S.T.A.A.R. respects each dog. Each dog has its own personality and is treated accordingly. There is no "one size fits all" attitude. The dogs have play groups and get to run on 2 acres at play time. It is a good life for these dogs.

This is a very loving NO KILL shelter. The dogs are treated with dignity and love. The people who wish to adopt are screened thoroughly and have to be approved before the furkids leave the premises. The director is dedicated to her calling.

STAAR is an exceptional shelter!! The dogs are happy and healthy and they are loved! I have adopted two dogs from STAAR. I have never seen a shelter where the dogs receive such great care! Every shelter should be like STAAR.

S.T.A.A.R. handles each dog with love and care. Each one matters no matter what their disability or age. It is a very loving caring group. If I were a dog, this is the group I would choose.
