The people who work at the APS of Durham are the most caring, hardworking, and friendly people anyone could find. They spend day in and day out working in a situation most would find devastating emotionally, attempting to place animals in a forever home where they will be loved rather than abandoned but facing a reality where many do not make it out. 15,000 dollars could make an enormous difference in that rate, allowing these hardworking people to better the animals' situation and give them a better life.

They are compassionate and help as many animals as they can. We adopted Jerry Lee, the best GSD ever, from there and feel so very lucky. He brings happiness to so many people. Thanks, APS of Durham!

They've got a truly dedicated staff to make sure they help as many animals as possible find loving, permanent homes. This organization truly does the entire Durham and NC community a service with their work.

I love this shelter. They took care of my Gray Sea before I found her and they did a great job. They are kind and courteous and the shelter is clean and the animals are well kept. But they need help as all shelters do. Please consider them

I had lost a dog over a year ago. The shelter was helpful in letting me look around. I plan to go back and adopt a pet from here soon.

APS of Durham is one of the few shelters that genuinely cares for the animals they rescue and go so much out of their way to not only care for them, but to procure loving homes/families to adopt animals out to. In recent years, they've done renovations to their 20+ year-old facility in order to be able to provide better medical care and ample housing space for both dogs and cats. The volunteers and staff there are truly wonderful people, committed to the cause of animal rescue.
