There is simply no better shelter than Clark County Humane Society. It's staff advocates tirelessly on behalf of animals. Animals that, without CCHS, would have no voice. CCHS cares for every dog and cat that comes to it's door in need of shelter and care. They work hard to find only the best homes for the animals. And until that best home is found, the cats and dogs are comfortable and safe, and very well cared for.
In addition to this most important work, they do so much more! CCHS runs a low-cost spay & neuter clinic on the premises. This is highly utilized and much appreciated service in our rural, economically depressed area. It is truly a gift from heaven that CCHS offers to the community, and it is one of many.
CCHS staff was instrumental in this fall's passage of the State of Wisconsin law that will work to stop animal breeders known as puppy mills from practicing abuse and neglect in our state. CCHS's hard work on this issue will help compassionate individuals, humane groups, and lawmakers in other states become 'puppy mill-free'.
Clark County Humane Society should win $10,000 for all of the above reasons, and because last year's necessary remodel/addition ended up costing so much more money than expected, as the existing tired building needed a new roof and septic. This has put our gem-of-a-shelter in *SERIOUS* debt. We just can't lose CCHS!
CCHS works to raise funds year-long, year after year. Everyone in the area chips in as they can, but now they are in need of a little BIG money, for once! CCHS is very deserving, so help them out so they can continue to help the animals!
