HSCA is the best shelter I've ever seen. The workers and volunteers are extremely passionate about the animals. They provide a safe, clean, and loving environment for the animals. They are also a no kill shelter which is extremely important to me. In addition, they provide adoption counseling to make sure that there is a good fit between the prospective owner and the dog or cat. This is great because it decreases the animals that are returned to the humane society and increases the positive outcomes. They also take in animals when no other shelters will. For instance, when a puppy mill was shut down, they made accomodations to take in more dogs than they technically had room for; they made the room and had an adoption fair. I adopted a golden retriever from them and I could not be happier!
HSCA is the cleanest shelter I've ever been in, hands down! All the staff & volunteers are the best! They are a no kill shelter so they need help to make sure all those searching for their forever families are well cared for & safe until they find each other!
