America's Favorite Animal Shelter Contest

we are small, all volunterr run shelter, receiving no assistance from either the county or city. we have a very small paid staff, otherwise we rely on volunteers, young and old, big and small to keep the animals cared for. we have had as many as 70 cats in our building at one time and eventually found homes for most. while we are not a no kill shelter, we try very hard not to put an animal down. there are of course those times when it is very necessary to do so, but not until there is a lengthy discussion but our shelter manager, the workers and out board of directors. out money comes from dog banks, our dinner/auction, the run/walk and other events during the year. we contiune to improve our shelter so the animals can have the best possible care while they are with us, until they go their forever home.

They are persistent in their efforts to fund animal rescue and redistribution.
