Lane County Animal Services is composed of a staff with big hearts and with one goal in mind - find good homes for Lane County's animals. With limited funds and resources, this shelter goes above and beyond to meet to the needs of the county (e.g., spay and neuter control), while also caring for animals who need training, special medical care, and TLC. This shelter is more than deserving of a prize of $15,000, and it has my vote!

A no-kill shelter that cares deeply about the our community's animals. Lane County's animal shelter does everything it can with limited resources and still manages to make a positive contribution, rather than maintaining a status quo. Their low income spay/neuter program was a life saver going through college and having cats dumped at my home.

Animals found by concerned citizens will likely go through this organization. The people who work here are patient and helpful yet there are no where near enough people to do all of the jobs or enough money to financially support their needs. Eugene is a big city with a lot of lonely and uncared for animals, and Lane County Animal Regulation bravely stands up to the plate. I just want to say Great Job to everyone involved!

I volunteer my time there as a dog walker/trainer. The people there care so much about the dogs and getting them suitable for adoption. They pour their time and resources into helping train the dogs and control the bad behaviors they come in with. I've seen so many dogs go from crazy to the perfect pet.I know that Cindy, the trainer for LCAS spends a lot of her own money and extra time on these dogs. With such little funding, it's amazing how many dogs they help. The money would be a huge help to this program.

LCAS has made a huge improvement in their adoption statistics and live release rates over the last few years. And doing it while having their budget cut and working in an old dingy and out of date shelter with peeling paint on the floors. They could really use the money!

Lane County Animal Services has very limited resources but is using what they have to make a real difference for the animals in Lane County. This money could make such a difference for them and help them continue with the good work they are doing against all odds.
