I love the dogs at Mackenzie's - They deserve to win:)

I adopted a wonderful, very well behaved dog from Mackenzies. Mackezies completely takes care of their dogs medically no matter what (my dog had heartworm disease when he was rescued by Mackenzies). They also do a great job of socializilng the dogs and teaching obedience. The adoption process was so professionally handled and so caring for the animal and adopting family. The facility is top notch. I highly recommnend Mackenzies to anyone loving person looking for a dog. Mackezies "Meet your Match" placement considerations fits the right dog with the right home.

Every pup should be so lucky as to land in such a wonderful "home along the way." Boasting an outstanding facility, dedicated staff, and a robust volunteer program, Mackenzie's is truly one of a kind. If there is one thing for which these dogs will never want, it is love...or treats. R.I.P. to my buddy, the "Ole' hound dog," Winston (A.K.A. Elvis).

Mackenzie's is a beautiful place. It is in the country, it is clean, there are volunteers who love the animals and care for them and the staff is so dedicated. The dogs are placed in only homes that qualify and those families go through steps to make sure they fit the dog. Each dog has a name and has a chart of what makes them special, right down from medical needs to tempermental differences. Notes are made daily for the dogs so that the staff can keep track of each dog. I have never seen such dedication as this group of people give to the dogs. Excellent place. I am glad it is here near me and this type of sanctuary for dogs should be mandatory across the United States. Bless them who watch over these 'lucky dogs'!!

Best shelter in the midwest

My husband and I were blown away by Makenzie's facility and staff. Makenzie's adoption process helps ensure a great fit for both dog and human. Staff is genuinely concerned for the welfare of their charges even after the dog goes to its new home.
