Small but caring Shelter. Our little Ashes(RIP) came from there, she picked us out! Best dog one could ask for. Wonderful staff.

I got my dog from the shelter and he is the BEST. They have a return policy for the adoped pets. The micro-chip will show the pet came from Al-Van and they will take the pet back. They have made some very long trips in order to rescue a dog that were serrendered to other shelters. Wonderful policy. :)

They are great - have adopted all of our animals from them over the years!

Al-Van helped me adopt my new best friend, my gray pit-bull named Rhoady! They are awesome!!!

The people in the community and surrounding area are committed to helping it's homeless animals.

Al-Van has been an excellent foster home for my pets before they adopted me.

The volunteers here do their best despite being vastly overused and underfunded. The numbers of abandoned animals in this area is incredible and yet they persevere.

They try the very best to find homes for all the animals. They try to have a wide range of fund raising activities. The shelter itself is very well cared for and clean, as well as the animals there by the dedicated staff.

Al-Van works so hard to place animals in forever homes. They have great fund raising ideas, a passionate board of directors, a tireless staff and they have foster families for shelter dogs and cats while they are waiting to be adopted. My husband and I are foster parents for dogs for Al-Van. It's a great program and we love doing it. Our own 3 dogs are rescues from Al-Van. I can't say enough about them. :)

They may be a small shelter, but they do everything to help these dogs find a home. I found my best friend there.

They are caring and concerned for the success of the shelter.

The staff provides care for the animals as if they were their own. Always feel welcome when we drop off donations.

We have the most adorable little terrier, Sammie, who found his way to the Al-Van Humane Society. He has brought so much joy to our life and we will be always grateful to the wonderful people that cared for him before he came to live with us!

Our staff works 7 days a week, I have never met more dedicated people than them. Thank you for all you do

We may be small in size but we're HUGE in heart. I do a radio spot every week and whenever I put out a call for some need--kitty litter, more towels, folks to help clean cages--out little town of fewer than 5,000 people can be counted on to pitch in. Our staff makes bare bones money--no health insurance, work 7 days a week and still have smiles on their faces when an animal gets adopted! What more could anyone ask of a shelter?
