Founded in 1987, Love Me Tender Animal Rescue is a grass roots all volunteer organization that has helped thousands of abused and abandoned animals. They help animals in rural TN where there is no animal control and no nearby shelter, so without this rescue group these stray animals would suffer and die. Love Me Tender was recently featured on CBS News and CBS Sunday Morning telling about the rescue of Ella the Rottweiler.

Love Me Tender Animal Shelter in Tennessee...They are a small shelter but do a tremendous job in making their animals feel like it is a solid, loving home.

Because they really do rescue, love, and shelter pets in need.

I adopted one of the most loving dogs I have ever had from here -- a deaf Pyr mix (or another related breed). He has done therapy in schools for kids to read to, helped me out as a service dog in training, and is loved by all who meet him.

Kathy and her family are dedicated to the cause of animals. Their fight to end homelessness and abuse is pure unconditional dedication to all the aimals that do not have a voice. LMTAR will always be special to me and my family.

This small shelter is the model for ALL shelters. It is compassionate, caring, and has a conscience to do the right thing for each creature, like Ella the rottweiler. I think God looks out for all earthlings and He made sure CBS publicized Ella's plight. Elvis had a hand in it also - this shelter isn't named "Love Me Tender" for nothing!

They took the extra steps to locate the owner of Ella! This is something not found in all shelters. They serve as a role model for other shelters and should be rewarded accordingly. My vote is for Love Me Tender!

They went the extra mile with Ella, the rottie who was stuck on a roadside for 13 days, pining for her people, til they took the time to investigate where her lost family is. Til the family gets better after their accident, the shelter is giving Ella a home and lots of tlc. They are a grass roots group who gives their time, resources and love to our homeless furry friends. They deserve to win!
