Mid Hudson Animal Aid is a no kill, free range cat shelter. Mid Hudson is also home for for many "special needs" cats, and some with FIV and Feline Leukemia. All the cats are very well cared for and loved so much by the workers, as well as volunteers.

This shelter was responsible for introducing my beloved cat Sullivan to me. Sully is a beautiful pure-white long hair cat with light blue eyes. He was named Valentino by the staff because he was such a lover. He and his siblings were brought in by several 14-15 year old kids from Beacon High. They had been caring for & feeding the mother cat during her pregnancy and after the births. These wonderful kids were able to trap the mother cat & paid for her spaying themselves, then released her again. They also rescued the litter & took them to the Essie Debrusin Cat Sanctuary. I saw an ad in the paper for "Valentino" & immediately went down to see him. It was love at first sight! Sully is the best cat I have ever had - he's affectionate, vocal, & has the craziest personality a cat could ever have! He's funny, loud, and one of the loves of my life! I adore my boy!! The staff at this facility have so much compassion, care, and love for the animals they take care of. This is one place that I personally KNOW deserves to win this - they make sacrifices for their residents all the time, and never give up looking for forever homes for them. Please vote to help them win - every state & every area should have shelters like this one!!!! They don't kill, and they don't turn away needy animals!! Thank you Mid Hudson Animal Aid for all that you have done, and continue, to do!!! :-))

I have adopted two of my cats from this shelter. The people that work there are very caring, nurturing, patient people. It is apparent that they love each and every cat and dog that enters their shelter. The staff go above and beyond in caring for the animals at the shelter.Recently, they created a foster program where people can volunteer to care for a cat or a dog until they find a suitable home. Not only do the ensure that the healthy cats find a loving home, they also find suitable homes for cats who are terminally sick and ill. This is an amazing shelter with the best staff. The best part about this shelter is that they are a No-kill shelter who welcome abused, feral and sick animals.

They are filled to the brink with cats and need money for building repairs and vet bills.

Awesome people who really care! Without a doubt, one of the best shelters I've been to. They provide loving care to their cats, including those which no other shelters would take in. I just can't say enough praise about them.
