DAWG has done so much for the Santa Barbara community and helps out the smaller rescue groups in the area when DAWG is full and can't take on another wayward pup! They are a necessity for the Central Coast and deserves the credit of "America's favorite shelter"!!!

The Dogs at DAWG are the happiest rescue dogs I've ever worked with and I've been working in various dog shelters as a dog walker and volunteer coordinator for about 12 years (just a simple volunteer walker at Dawg.) That is because Dawg works hard to make sure each dog gets extra special attention, walks and play time. The work diligently to get volunteers so all of these dogs get plenty of socialization. The Best Dogs are rescue dogs!!!!

They take wonderful care of the dogs, good food, baths, clean indoor/outdoor enclosures and bedding plus lots and lots of love and attention and walks. Workers try really hard to help every dog find an adoptive person or family. Many of the dogs get interim foster care as well.
