I grew up in Hastings. I just wanted to help a much needed shelter. My shelter is in Danbury that gets alot of donations and so does Bethel. Hope they can use it.

It tries so hard to take good care of the many many animals who come to its doorsteps....it is so understaffed, yet it recruits the most committed volunteers. It needs resources to care for more little ones.

They are a great shelter, in which I have adopted two of my cats from in the past and they are in desperate need of remodeling and for years have tried to raise money to do so. It would be great for them to recieve this money because they keep so many homeless animals of the streets.

They take in all breeds, but the pit bull is the one most sheltered. The breed has been maligned and the human owners have been totally iresponsible. The Yonkers shelter needs the funds to be able to do its good works and find homes for these beautiful animals.

It serves their community under adverse conditions with limited means, and stalwart heart. Their animals are tenderly administered and cared for. They won't give up.

I love the animals...it's all about them. And they are in dire, dire need of a new home. The Yonkers Animal Shelter is literally falling apart at the seams, but the great staff and volunteers carry on. The City of Yonkers has fallen short in providing financial assistance and it has been left to the volunteers to raise a Herculean amount of money. The shelter is literally falling apart and the city of Yonkers doesn't seem to care. We need this financial support to help out our furry friends and to give the staff and volunteers at the YAS a much needed and well deserved morale booster.

They have mostly pitbulls and take such good care of them. Our adoreable "Blondie" is a product of their work.

The employees and volunteers are so caring and competent. The shelter is in such need of financial assistance that our city cannot seem to provide, but the shelter continues, in spite of this, to help and house animals that are brought there. It would be just wonderful if this shelter could be brought up to date by getting financial support.

The Yonkers Shelter houses over 100 dogs and cats that would otherwise be on the streets or in a bad home situation. They are proactive about getting the dogs adopted into good homes. The shelter itself is very old and there is no heat in the dog runs in the winter and this money can be used to make these animals more comfortable.

We got our dog Tux from the shelter and is a fine addition to our home. I remember that first day walking around the Yonkers shelter amazed by the dedication and hard work of the staff and saddened by the 50 year of physical structure clearly in need of repair. Please help support this fine organization.

They take good care of the animals and work very hard with very little money. They have lost funding due to budget cuts. They are trying to move into a larger building with more space for the animals.

Our shelter has been in disrepair for a long time now. The town is trying to raise money but the new facilities are long overdue and cutbacks do not allow any funding. The animals as well as the employees deserve a better shelter.

I adopted a beautiful orange and white tuxedo about seven years ago. He was well taken care of up to the day of adoption. But this shelter seriously needs help in keeping up the care needed for the animals.
