PAWS Chicago is the city’s largest No Kill humane organization, focused on implementing solutions to end the killing of homeless pets. Since PAWS Chicago’s founding in 1997, the number of homeless dogs and cats killed annually has dropped more than 50 percent: from more than 42,000 homeless pets killed in 1997 to 19,288 killed in 2008. PAWS Chicago is working to build a No Kill Chicago—a city where pets are no longer destroyed just because they are homeless.
Saving Lives
PAWS Chicago will find new homes for more than 3,000 homeless pets this year with the state-of-the-art Lincoln Park Adoption & Humane Center that opened this year. This inviting, cageless Adoption Center provides homeless pets with the care and dignity they deserve while welcoming adopters, providing them with guidance in selecting their new pet and continued support for life.

It's such a beautiful environment for the animals. Everyone is so nice even those that volunteer there. I've gone there with my husband just to visit with the cats. The staff makes sure you sanitize your hands between each room. What place does that?
