MaxFund is truly no-kill, so it treats its animals with the same care as an owner until a home is found (even if that is years). Therefore, the expenses are much higher than the average shelter. It is 90% run by passionate, loving volunteers and has amazing animals.

MaxFund is a fantastic organization that does a lot of good. I love volunteering there, and I spend almost ever Sunday with the wonderful cats available for adoption. They deserve this!

Maxfund staff and volunteers do a wonderful job of caring for animals that might not otherwise get the chance to find their forever families. They truly rescue and rehabilitate pets, and never give up on them. Our cat, Richard, is a great example - matted, nervous, nearly toothless and with chronic rhinitis, he was a sight to behold at Maxfund. But 1 1/2 years later, he's looking sleek, relaxed and enjoying a quality of life in our home that is in stark contrast to his former life as a stray. He's adjusted so well and is a wonderful member of our family. Our other two cats couldn't have a feline better companion - neither could we!

Maxfund is working tirelessly with many to help save the lives of thousands of animals. Being a no kill shelter puts a strain on the budget, but is done for the love and life of animals, because there is a home for every shelter animal out there. Thank you Maxfund and volunteers for all you do for the animals!

Max Fund is truly no-kill, very friendly and helpful even when things are very busy, grateful for all donations, big and small. And most especially, to the people at Max Fund, there is no such thing as a misfit pet, just a pet waiting for the right fit, with them to help him/her find it.

I personally have adopted a kitty from here. The staff are the most caring, professional and kind people. The center is clean and all animals are treated with the utmost respect and love. It is a non-kill shelter and deserves to win this contest to help feed and house the animals during this terrible economic time.

I am a volunteer at MaxFund, and I know the dogs and cats are never killed for the convenience of humans. Plus, myself and the other volunteers work to make sure the dogs are loved and walked, and the cats are loved and played with. If I were an animal in a shelter, I would choose MaxFund.

MaxFund shelters any pet who is homeless or hurt forever and serves the inner city residents of Denver, a need that only the MaxFund fills. It is truly a unique and essential organization.
