Dr. Thompson who started Nine Lives rescues cats that would normally be put down. She saved our cat who was with a family who accidently stepped on him at a few months old. He was blind and having seizures. The family wanted to put him down but she took over care and even took him home to watch him at night. She saves so many cats lives and has a clinic now that provides affordable care for animals. She funds her shelter by her work at the clinic, volunteers and donations. Our cat today is blind and through testing we found he only has half a brain. Without Dr. Thompson Koko our cat would of been put down. Koko is an active cat today thanks to her care and devotion.

The Nine Lives Foundation is a true no-kill facility (unlike Humane Society Silicone Valley). They take care of and find homes for all the cats they are able to bring in to their facility. The shelter really needs help getting the word out though, so please help.

NIne Lives Foundation Dr Thompson and her staff are amazing. She was referred to me by my friend and several colony caregivers. Their dedication to save cats on the verge of being euthanized form other counties even when her shelter is full they go the extra MILE to save another life. When you visit her, she doesnt rush you right in and out for the next appt. She listens to your concerns and reassures you things will be ok. SHe was the one that discovered my Chandler had a heart condition that I NEVER was told from my other vet. YOu need to visit her clinic and shelter to understand and know what dedication is from staff and volunteers.

Dr. Thompson's work with The Nine Lives Foundation is truly a labour of love. They will take in cats that other shelters would be forced to euthanize, without concern for the cost. My girlfriend and I adopted two cats from the shelter, and they have enriched our lives in ways I never thought possible. The Nine Lives Foundation also has a well-care clinic which provides affordable veterinary care for our cats. They could really use the money, so vote early and often! :)

I highly recommend the Nine Lives Foundation. Dr. Thompson, is genuine, compassionate, and very knowledgeable. Her passion and that of her volunteers is evident in every action from the way they treat their with love and kindness cats to the way that they hold true to their no-kill motto rescuing cats from all over the San Francisco Bay Area who would normally be put down. Dr. Thompson and her team are truly unrecognized heroes. They definitely need more financial donations - particularly in this economic climate.

I ended up getting my lil guy there (quite by accident!) and fell in love with so many others. The work Dr. Thompson does is so inspirational as is her commitment to saving these poor helpless creatures.

This shelter takes in cats and kittens that no one else will take- cats that are scheduled to be euthanized. Dr Thompson and staff are so kind and caring. All donations go to the cats without alot of fancy overhead expenses.I want this money to go to one of our smaller,less known shelters - rather than the larger more well known ones.This dedicated hard-working shelter is always on the "hairy edge' of closing down due to lack of funding. This money would provide a cushion for them- so that they can continuue to do their magic with saving kitten and cat's lives!!!!

I love the Nine Lives because the volunteers are so dedicated and Dr. Thompson really puts her heart and soul into finding good homes for the kitties.

Because Dr Thompson is an excellent Vet & she is so caring and passionate about her shelter. she has saved so many lives. She goes to kill shelters and rescues so many cats and kittens that would otherwise be euthanized. She is an ANGEL.

I love their commitment to the animals -- they demonstrate their care every day in the smallest ways to make life better for every animal.

At the heart of the shelter is Dr. Thompson who donates her veterinary expertise to insure the health of hundreds of homeless cats in her shelter.

It is such an amazing place! This organization is a true hero in my book!
