The Humane Society of San Antonio does such a great job at saving the lives of so many innocent animals each year. Their staff is always friendly and has a true compassion for animals. They have helped me out with several stray animals that I have rescued in the past. It is so nice to see a facility that truly has the best interest of animals at heart.
It is a very clean environment and very animal/people friendly. Staff is well-dressed in identifiable shirts and are always available in the kennel areas.
The Bexar County Humane Society is the best place to go!!!! When I got my first cat Ginger, I played with so many cats there to find just the right one for me. Ginger was the one that wanted nothing to do with me. I thought she is perfect and she was. I had her for 14 years and now she has passed on. I miss her so much and I thank the Humane Society of Bexar County. I would have never had the time I had with Ginger if it wasn't for them...
Every individual that is a part of this shelter makes a huge difference to the lives of every cat and dog.

Because the take advantage of all possible means to get a place to those pets get them the chance to live and not euthanasize them as many shelters do.
They have a goal to be no kill by 2012- let's support that!

Very nice facility.. everyone was helpful.. i will referr pet lovers to the humane sociiety for adoption..
What more can I say they take care of our pets that are in need, for home, shelter,food, love and everything else that comes along with it.

Its so disappointing that not every shelter is as nice as this one. This shelter is amazing and every animal deserves to have at least that. Even though the animals at this shelter are not adopted and have a home are still truly taken care of!
