I sponsor 2 cats at the shelter and would sponsor more if I could. Thank goodness Alana and the staff at BCRS are devoted to saving these cats which would otherwise be euthanized. As you can see from the videos of the cats, available on YouTube, they play, sun themselves, and chase balls like any normal cat, because they have been given the chance to do so. Blind does not equal worthless- and these cats deserve to have a safe loving place.

This shelter is not in my city or state. It is, however, a shelter that I support and wish we had where I live. I have a blind cat who is a wonderful companion. In fact, he's about the best kitty I've ever had...totally loving to all. Where I live, he would be put down immediately and at the few no-kill shelters,if there was even room, he'd be confined to a small cage for the rest of his life. (I have seen this of blind cats at our largest no-kill.) Here at BCR&S, he would have a real life! If my baby couldn't be with me for some terrible reason, THIS is where I'd want him to be. They are loving, wonderful people and the shelter is top-notch. They do it with a handful of staff (family) and a peanuts budget...and they deserve SO MUCH more!!!!

Honestly I've never been there, but any shelter that care's for blind animal's I'll vote for!!!

Because it gives cats with a whole lot of love in their hearts who just happen to be blind a chance at a forever home and this shelter really needs to win because they are relatively new and need the help. Please at least let them win the $500 for the weekly contest. Thank you for your great contest!

I was looking for an all cat rescue group since 5 times more cats than dogs are put to sleep all over the country. Blind cats are so sweet, helpless and deserving. So I'm glad there's a place they can go. Thank You for being there for them! Denise

They are THE BEST at proving a loving and caring environment for these precious blind kittens/cats that would otherwise be homeless or put to sleep. KOODOS to them!!!!!!

I think every animal deserves a fair chance at life, no matter what physical or emotional challenges they may have.

Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary, Inc is an amazing place that helps blind kitties in need-I love it♥

The BCR has adopted kitties from all over the country and even in Kuwait that would otherwise be put down. That is wonderful and what we expect special shelters to do. But in addition what I find so wonderful about Alana and her rescue is that she has educated and inspired so many others to give blind cats a chance! Many of those that have gotten involved in supporting this rescue have given homes to blind kitties from high-kill shelters or other negative circumstances. So she not only does her own compassionate work, her love and kindness has spread like a ripple that has encouraged others to do the same... She is a marvel and the shelter is a miracle!

In a time of stretched funding (and 13% unemployment), our shelter is expanding to meet the needs of our economically troubled community. I'm proud of the residents of our area.

They are the best. I mean, they help blind cats and kittens! What more is there to say? They are most deserving for all they do.

The cats there are so well cared for and loved. It is a wonderful place.

I think there needs to be MORE shelters like this one, that will help give poor abused/neglected/maimed kitties a way to live, love and learn to feel safe and as whole as possible again!

Blind Cat Rescue gives kitties a chance that they otherwise would NEVER have had. A blind kitty can STILL be a healthy happy kitty!

Blind Cat Rescue gives cats without a home and in danger of euthanasia a chance at a happy, healthy life. The blind cats here are happy - playful and loving - and they receive the health care they need. We've visited BCR twice - the third visit will be this week! It's a wonderful place!!!

They provide a wonderful service for these kitties with special needs that would otherwise be looked over & forgotten.

BCR has the BEST staff and volunteers who really love what they do and spend time getting to know their sweet kitties in order to answer questions and get the them best forever homes!

A shelter who cares for blind cats and gives them sancturary is special. I never met them or went there but I am giving them my vote.

Love and care and cleanliness and compassion...what's not to love?!?!? They truly, truly CARE about the babies in their charge.

When I heard about this shelter, it really touched my heart ... they take care and give love to the last, the unadoptables! May God Bless their incredible work and provide all the help they need to continue!

Blind cats are the last to be adopted -- if they are even given a chance! HURRAY to those who work on their behalf.

They do incrediable work with blinnd cats. This type of cats people are often afraid of, or give up on easily, whereas blind cats make excellent pets, and for specal needs, require few special concessions from an owner. I am so glad a shelter like Blind Cat Rescue exists to help save these precious souls and educate people what fabulous companions blind cats make .

The Blind Cat Rescue & Sanctuary do a wonderful and most needed work for cats that otherwise certainly would have no hope or future at all!! It's just amazing what they do, and I try to help and promote them even here in far away Sweden!! So the message is; help them help the blind cats!!

I cannot say enough about the BCR! Alana and all the volunteers have hearts of gold and are a true inspiration for all!

These kitties show what true determination is all about - They say a society can be measured by the way they treat the animals -- Alana and the group proves that there is hope for our society.

"What you do unto the least of these you also do unto me..." I think of this biblical passage every time I visit the Blind Cat Sanctuary fb page. I'm an atheist, but I do think that what we do for the least among us, whether for humans or non-human animals, we do for all living things and for ourselves.

Not many people will shelter blind kitties. I admire what people are doing about. I think it's defitely a worthwhile cause - cats are so loving and intelligent. I hope there will be many, many, many votes.

The Blind Cat Rescue and Sanctuary in NC. is by far one of the worthiest shelters in the United States; for all the love and care that they provide to abused/homeless blind kittens/cats; that would otherwise be put to sleep. These darling cats can now live out a full life filled with love and hope.

I love the fact that Blind Cat Rescue gives a second chance to cats that otherwise will be deemed unadoptable due to their disability. The Blind Cat Rescue helps kitties that otherwise might not have had a chance. All too often, blind cats are deemed "unadoptable" by shelters just because they cannot see. If you look past their blindness, they are just like any other cats. They play, they climb, they cuddle with humans and purr. They give love, and accept it gratefully. They are cats who just happen to not be able to see, and they deserve a chance at life! And this is what the Blind Cat Rescue gives them!

Blind Cat Rescue provides a caring, safe home for blind cats who otherwise might not have survived. Blind cats are generally considered unadoptable and euthanized without being given a chance at finding a forever home. Many of the cats at BCR were abandoned by their owners once they lost their sight or abused. The rescue gives them medical care, comfortable homes, and lots of love and attention. Because of Blind Cat Rescue, so many cats now have a future!

A great place for blind cats with a very caring crew. Who take in cats who would otherwise be unadoptable by most shelters.

Because they help animals and would do anything to care about them.

This shelter rocks! They take care of kitties who are often under the radar of care, and deemed unadoptable by traditional shelters. I donate to them what little i can, and when i get rich, i'll donate more.

These folks care for blind cats in a time when people throw away cats they don't want anymore for reasons much more frivolous than disability. As a person who believes that ALL life is precious, I applaud the efforts of these folks and support them as much as I can.
