Every day I find myself in constant awe of Teri and the work she does. She takes the ones no one else wants: the sad, lonely, abandoned, mangy, heartworm positive, old, crippled, blind, and on doggy death row dogs. And she does it with her whole heart. Even when she is knee deep in dog hair, puppy poo and piddle, sleep deprived from all-night feedings, and broke because of the last trip to the vetís office, she will still open her arms to the next one in line. Her reward for all of this? The simple joy of seeing a dog destined for death being given a second chance. She has often said that the dogs arenít the only ones being saved Ė the humans taking them in are saved as well. I know this to be true because I adopted two rescues from Under Dogs, and they have changed my life for the better.

Terri Bondi is the Pied Piper of Animal Rescues. The saying "Leave No man behind" should be incorporated into her rescue slogan as this is how she unselfishly works 24/7 to make a difference in these animal's lives!

Underdogs is run by a dedicated and loving angel named Terri Bondi and her many volunteer fosters. She used to be a normal person who had a business. Her on-the-side compassion turned into a full-time volunteer operation of rescueing the worst-of-the-worst neglect and abandoment cases from local shelters and various sources and tranforming them into healthy, loving pets. She works tirelessly picking up and delivering pets to the vets office, bringing pets to her home for recovery and networking people and resources to get the animals the care they need. She doesn't stop there. Once her rescue animals (and not just dogs--she's had rats, snakes, guinea pigs, birds and even a pig) have been physically and emotionally rehabilitated, the adoption-screening process begins. Terri is highly-selective with who gets to adopt her babies, often times turning down dozens of callers. Candidates are screened, researched, and interviewed. Then, if you are lucky enough to be selected, a meeting is arranged to see how the pet and potential owner get along. If all goes well and adoption is granted, Terri requires the new owner to sign a contract agreeing to return the pet to her in the event the owner can no longer keep the pet. She accomplishes all of this with donations and volunteers, often times paying for treatments and medications on her own. She is the personification of compassion and dedication.

They do not go by beauty or breed, just that fact that all deserve the right to have a chance and they do that for many many of our furry friends. Sick, ugly, old, hairless, makes no difference. It is a living creature and they work very very hard to see that as many as they can get the chance to have love and a secure home. My hat is off to the effort, money and heart that has gone into the saving of so many lives, then add the happy happy famlies that have a friend for life and there are winners all the way around.

Terri is so very dedicated to doing all she can for her "protected furbabies" till they are place in their "furever" homes. All the while being a wife and mother, and hopefully leaving some time for herself... I believe her husband Ben sums it up completely (& he would know!!!)
