Black Cat Rescue does an amazing thing - targeting those least likely to get adopted. The women who run this program are 100% dedicated and 100% volunteer; they deserve this money!!

I love black cat rescue because they specialize in black cats who are considered to be less adoptable- which frees up space in non-kill shelters, which in turn helps all cats looking for homes! Plus, as long as they have a foster home, they never turn a cat down-even if they need medical care!

I love Black Cat Rescue because they are a no-kill shelter, plus they go to extreme measures to ensure each cat/kitten is adopted by a loving and caring family. The Black Cat Rescue Team has gone above an beyond to save cats/kittens from States as far south as South Carolina along the East Coast to Massachusetts. Each feline is given special attention and temporarily placed in foster homes until adopted. Although they have fulltime positions elsewhere, the folks at Black Cat Rescue spend time to do home visits and have potential adoptees meet their perspective new feline before adoption to ensure compatibility and determine that the placement is ideal for both feline and adoptee(s). Their dedication and loving spirit has saved the lives of numerous cats/kittens which definitely earns my vote.

I just discovered BCR on Facebook after opening my home to a very neglected black cat that no one seemed to want. She is the most loving, special, and wonderful cat I have ever known, and she has blossomed into a healthy kitty in a year's time (and all this is coming from someone who's only owned dogs!). People have such a strange aversion to black cats, and honestly it's for no reason other than old superstitions. BCR tries so hard to dispel all of that and they're so dedicated. Definitely gets my vote!

They will bring me my next "Grand Cat" and I cannot wait to meet her, they've made my Daughter and Granddaughter very happy.

This is an incredibly caring group of people. When I was interested in seeing Aster (now Anna), they were literally by my side during the whole process. All of the black cats are taken care of by foster families; no cages on the floor for these kitties. They are pampered and loved the whole time they are waiting for a forever home. For Anna, this may have been the first time she was in a safe and living home. Anna was not a warm and cuddly kitty and there was a little concern because several people had visited her, but noone adopted her. But Black Cat Rescue didn't abandon her. She remained in her foster home until I met her and just LOVED her. She is curled up on the back of the couch behind me as I write this, safe and warm, happy and loved-all because Black Cat Rescue doesn't give up until the right person comes along. And I'm forever thankful to them for that. So is Anna!
