Animals are a precious gift and we need to protect and care for them.

After the MSPCA left the island, the residents pulled together to keep the much needed shelter open. From the dedication bricks covering the front walk, to the affectionate staff, to the jungle gym playroom for the animals...you feel the love and passion all around. If there was any more reason to fall in love with this island, the Animal Shelter of MV is it!!

An essential shelter for abandoned animals!

This shelter picked up the slack when the MSPCA abandoned us and left our Island without a shelter.

Hope you win the $15,000 so you can stay open to help those animals who need it.

Our shelter is run by caring and loving people who are knowledgeable about animals. They are happy being with cats, dogs, rabbits, guinea pigs and whoever comes in. The shelter is a non-kill Shelter. It is kept very clean on a very small budget. The community is supportive . . The Director is a jewel of a person. and very easy to work with. The volunteers are very glad to be there.

I love my cat that i got from there! They are very nice and very helpful!

They work closely with a local animal hospital to rescue animals brought in to be euthanized.

It is a very unique place. If you don't have a lot of time on your hands,stay away. It is a time sucker. The people that run it are the best and so are all of us great volunteers!

A few years ago the MSPCA pulled their support from the shelter we had here on the island, probably due to the economy and politics. But the community rallied forth and created a new shelter that is still in need of much funding and support but we did it! So I am proud of the island community and all of the support, but of course there is so much more to do.
