Lucky Dog Rescue takes in the dogs that nobody else wants. Dogs with 3 legs, former bait dogs, older dogs, you name it, Ashley will take them when nobody else will. She is more than a shelter she is their "Ashley Mom". She loves them all as if they were her own, she takes them to her house, she walks them every day and she does this all by herself. She usually has over 20 foster dogs at any one time so you can imagine how much work that all is! She also helps so many other dogs that she has not room for, by finding them homes through her facebook pages. She will take dogs right from death row or pick up a stray when she sees them on the side of the road, they are all equal in her eyes, and they all deserve a chance and a home. She has almost no help or resources, but she would rather starve herself than see a dog go without. If anyone deserves this award then it is Ashley Owen Hill & Lucky Dog Rescue.

Lucky Dog Rescue is working to make a difference for the lives of shelter pets & inspire others to get involved in animal rescue. $15,000 would do more for this group than you could know.

The owner truly cares about the animals she shelters. It's rare to find that kind of compassion.

I think so many dogs, especially a handicapped, abused or an "undesirable" dog need to be saved! That's what Lucky dog does. They should be rewarded for the work they do. This money will save, change so many dogs lives!

Ashley's is BEYOND giving... SHe lives, breaths, and gives her all to all the lil ones she rescues. I am sure she would love to do more.. this prize amount would help her do that.....

Ashley is doing what I always wanted to do, but didn't. I have rescued a few dogs and found homes for them, but nothing like Ashley. She is my inspiration to continue what I do - on a much smaller scale.
