Robeson County is AWESOME! We have the greatest dog ever thanks to the efforts of the dedicated people at Robeson. When I first saw Lucy on Petfinder's website, I was hooked. We hadn't had a dog for many years. Our last dog, Bailly, was a pure-bred Golden Retriever whom we loved so much; we lived in Omaha, NE; Bailly passed away in 2004. My husband lost his job and we moved to PA. Something was missing in our lives; we wanted another dog but since Bailly's death had decided that if we ever got another dog, that dog would be a "rescue". Thanks to Alayna, our dreams came true. We corresponded with Alayna by email constantly; she was beyond great in letting us know everything about Lucy. Alayna was even going to bring Lucy to us personally from NC to PA, however, a terrible snowstorm ruined those plans; we were heartbroken. Then, Feb. 19, our new family member arrived by transport. Lucy is an awesome dog; In Lucy's past, she had been hit by a truck, left for dead and had suffered a broken leg. Thanks to a very caring volunteer at Robeson, Lucy's surgery was paid for, however, Lucy continued to live at Robeson for over a year with no one interested in adopting her. We are so grateful that no one adopted Lucy because we definitely have the most wonderful dog ever! My 9-year old daughter and Lucy have bonded; Lucy was so scared of so many things when she came to us, one of which was school buses. Lucy overcame her fear of school buses when she greeted our daughter, Kaitlin, coming off the bus every afternoon. Lucy's tail wags so fast when she sees the bus coming; she is sooooo happy to see Kaitlin. Lucy has been a great addition to our family and a true blessing. Thank you Robeson!

Robeson hooked me up with the best dog in the whoooole world... and from over 700 miles away! I didn't intend to look that far away from my home, but there was a listing error and once I laid eyes on little Pepper I knew she was my dog and was willing to find a way to get her here. Robeson was very helpful, answering all of my questions about her and they were great about getting her transported halfway to my home. Alayna has remained in touch to see how my girl is doing and shares pictures with the volunteers who cared for her during her months in the shelter. I am so thankful to Robeson for rescuing my girl!

The shelter is clean and the workers and volunteers take great care of the animals. The need for a safe environment for animals while they are waiting for adoption is great in this area. The shelter could do even more for the animals of this area if they won the $15,000! We need your votes!

Friends for Life as we call it has been very dedicated to the goal of saving lives and creating a friendly place for our homeless animals. At the same time, great efforts are made to find "forever" homes for our furry friends.
The staff is warm and loving and the shelter is clean and inviting. We are always trying to raise money to help pay for all the animals' needs and this will be a well deserved $15,000 if we win.

The people who work there are very compassionate about what they do & they love each animal that comes through their doors. They work diligently to find the animals their forever homes. They would do wonderful things for the animals if they won the $15,000.
