SUPPORT THIS PETITION FOR HEALTHY AND TREATABLE DOGS AND CATS AT OPERATING ANIMAL SHELTERS TO NO LONGER LEGALLY BE ALLOWED TO BE "PUT TO SLEEP"/ MURDERED FOR TIME AND SPACE CONSIDERATIONS
EVERY HEALTHY/ TREATABLE PAW SHOULD HAVE A LIFE LIVING LAW
Only ONE animal in 10 born in the U.S. gets a good home that lasts a lifetime.
The average time for an animal's stay at a shelter is 5-12 days, if not found a home.
Between 4-6 million dogs and cats are put to sleep each year in the U.S. due to over population and being homeless. That means between 11,000-16,000 pets are put to sleep every day and an animal in a shelter is killed every 1.5 seconds.
(Not including the numbers that die of starvation, disease, being hit by a car etc.)
Puppy mills are known for killing dogs when no longer profitable. Is this really what animal shelters have turned to? If the shelters are too crowded why not TNR(Trap-Neuter-Return) the healthy, harmless animals?
The importance of their lives should be treated just the same as how wed act towards humans. Every life matters, and in many religions and over-all, just humanly, this is true. What makes an animal different from a human to make it acceptable to kill them? NOTHING, besides not having a voice.
Many support this cause not just because of the lives being saved but also our tax money is used for this. Putting to sleep one dog or cat can go from $60-120.A big way to stop this is by putting a stop to puppy mills and pet-store breeding.
Bark For Life would like to inform you that we have started another petition . This one is to help stop Animal Shelters that "put to sleep" animals even though they are healthy and treatable. It is like this Bark For Life Petition as well, however it is more in depth about stopping the strays, so animal shelters wont do as much harm when it comes to running out of space and as a result there wouldn't be puppy mills(they should be illegal) and there would be more homes for the animals. The Bark For Life Petition isn't the biggest solution to helping the animals but it is to stop them from being "put to sleep"when it comes to the pound and is probably the quickest, shortest solution for now. At least until puppy mills etc. get shut down. Please tell the people of America this and forward it!
And honestly, the reason why we started this was to start off slow in our own area (San Joaquin in California) , to make a bigger difference faster ! But we ended up getting people from other countries and states as well! (: we are honored!!!
Thank you for your' time ! (: please check it out
Let California know that this should be a felony!
Save the paws and help this cause!
Yours truly ,
Bark For Life
