WHAT IS A 'GEEZER'?
"Geezer" is colloquial, in English, for "old man". It is a rather friendly, humorous term.
IN HONOR OF OUR WARRIORS FOR JUSTICE:
Come all ye young fellows, from near and from far,

WHAT IS A 'GEEZER'?
"Geezer" is colloquial, in English, for "old man". It is a rather friendly, humorous term.
Interestingly enough, the only terms I can come up with for "old woman", are NOT friendly, but are instead, denigrating: "old crone", "old witch", "old hag". They imply "ugliness" and all sorts of bad, even evil and fearsome, qualities. In a female who has passed her "usefulness", as a breeder and childbearer.
These undeniably SEXIST terms, have been co-opted by the Women's Movement, into something POSITIVE: implying the wisdom that comes from experience. {In a similar way that the terms "Queer" and "Gay" have been co-opted into something POSITIVE, by the LGBTQ Movement.}
We shall use the term "Geezer", as a "neutral" form for BOTH sexes.
IN HONOR OF OUR WARRIORS FOR JUSTICE:
Come all ye young fellows, from near and from far,
And I’ll tell you a tale of a diff’rent sort of War,
‘Tis Advanc’d by our granmas {and granpas!}, a Few I could Name,
But there be Countless Others who’ve done Much the Same
With a folderol, diddle-dee-day!

SO.....Let's hear it for "Witches", for "Crones" and for "Hags";
Let's Honor our Elders, Irrepressible Nags!
Drink Toasts to their White Hairs and Grey Hairs, undy'ed;
We'll Cherish th'Experienced above the Untried!
And for the men:
Let's hear it for "Unruly Oldsters", egads!
Do Honor to Elders, give Ear to our Dads!
Wassail! to their White Heads and Bald Heads and Grey;
In Matters of Morals, let Age have its Way!
And we ALL may go diddle-dee-day!
Truth IS the Path, the Only Way
When Such as These shall have their Say
Tyrants will Tremble in their Sway

Declaration of Conscience of Quakers to King Charles II in 1661: as meaningful today, as 350 years ago:
[Many of these Quakers were Army Veterans from England's bloody Civil War. This was at a time when religious strife was tearing the rest of Europe apart; to refuse to fight even in the name of one's religion, was a novelty!] [I am certain that if you substituted "Buddha-nature" or "Higher Self" or "Spirit", for "Christ", it would be okay with most Quakers, as really the same thing.]
Our principle is, and our practices have always been, to seek peace, and ensue it, and to follow after righteousness and the knowledge of God, seeking the good and welfare, and doing that which tends to the peace of all. All bloody principles and practices we do utterly deny, with all outward wars, and strife, and fightings with outward weapons, for any end, or under any pretence whatsoever, and this is our testimony to the whole world. The spirit of Christ by which we are guided is not changeable, so as once to command us from a thing as evil, and again to move unto it; and we do certainly know, and so testify to the whole world, that the spirit of Christ which leads us into all Truth will never move us to fight and war against any man with outward weapons, neither for the kingdom of Christ, nor for the kingdoms of the world.
And as for the kingdoms of this world, we cannot covet them, much less can we fight for them, but we do earnestly desire and wait, that by the word of God's power and its effectual operation in the hearts of men the kingdoms of this world may become the kingdoms of the Lord and of his Christ, that he may rule and reign in men by his spirit and truth, that thereby all people, out of all different judgments and professions might be brought into love and unity with God and one another, and that they might all come to witness the prophet's words, who said, "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more".
