In preparedness to increasing disaster risks in the Middle-East, an intensive training course on disaster management will be conducted in Kuwait from 1-3 April 2008. The training will be conducted in Arabic and will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to Disaster Management (the theory)
- Humanitarian Principles and Values
- Sphere standards in humanitarian response
- Introduction to International Humanitarian Law
- Needs and Resources Assessment in Emergencies
- Dealing with media in emergencies
- Personal safety and security in the field
- Distribution in emergencies
- other related topics.
Target audiences
People who are working or aim to work in the humanitarian field, such as UN Inter-Agency, (inter)national NGOs, Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies, Civil Defence, national government department for international development …..etc.
