Voice for Change; A Universal Social Enlightening Movement for Animal Welfare

We ambitiously endeavor to increase awareness around the world by enlightening those who may not otherwise be in touch with the importance of animal welfare and to strengthen the voice of those who actively care by connecting, inspiring and motivating people to take action in the world movement to end animal cruelty.

We’ve chosen the Chinese fur trade to serve as a primary example for our campaign addressing animal cruelty because China remains absent of any animal rights/welfare protection laws; also because China uses these escalating crimes of gross animal cruelty to fuel their status as rapidly growing economic power. *

Love your dog? Love your cat? Just love animals? China is profiting from a hidden 'dog and cat' fur trade. Whose pets are next?

The Bitter Truth:

Right now millions of domestic dogs and cats, also rabbits, foxes, coyotes, mink, raccoons and other species are suffering unconscionable treatment and agonizing death in China. This is a country where most animals mean nothing more than a growing economy from their ‘meat’ and ‘fur’, plus numerous pet dogs and cats are treated the same way. Those involved deliberately draw out the pain and torture to “increase the flavor" of the ‘meat’.

World wide fur production is outsourced to China because of their low labor costs and there are no animal welfare laws for cats, dogs and captive wild animals there. China's fur business is built on the suffering and blood of these animals, their fur being shipped world wide, unmarked and mislabeled; it’s even being sold as 'fake fur' or 'fun fur'. China is the largest fur distributor in the world and the government is profiting from a fur trade worth over seven billion dollars. Stores across the world are selling mislabeled fur from these dogs, cats, rabbits and other animals in China. China supplies more than half of the finished fur garments imported for sale in the United States alone. Current fur products on store shelves are from these same animals and range from purses to key chain accessories to collar accents to coats and more.

Caution! Disturbing Facts
Dogs and cats for example, are being crushed into barbed wire cages for transport to slaughter; forced to lay on each other for days with no food or water. They are being removed with tongs, then stabbed in the groin, bludgeoned or bled to death. These animals are crying out in pain while being skinned as others are forced to watch and listen to their fate. Videotape, photographs and witnesses reveal some animals continue to live after their skin has been stripped. Their bodies thrown onto a heap of the dead and dying, while many continue to breathe. Footage taken by undercover investigators touring fur farms in China reveal why outsiders are banned from visiting.

Pet Lovers & Sports Fans: So how is China "Cleaning Up" for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games?

Thousands of pet cats in Beijing are being sent to die in secretive government pounds as China mounts an aggressive drive to clean up the capital in preparation for the Olympic Games. The round-up has been particularly intense in areas around Olympic venues and in streets and alleys surrounding five-star hotels where guests will stay during the summer games. The crackdown on cats is seen by animal campaigners as just one of a number of extreme measures being taken by government leaders to ensure that its capital appears clean, green and welcoming during the Olympics.

When the general public realizes the undeniable cruelty associated with the fur products on the market world wide we believe they will stop buying and wearing fur and we hope that enough people will stop buying China goods when they realize their hard earned money is supporting the fast growing economy of this inhumane government.

This issue goes beyond the good of humanity. The abolishment of animal cruelty should be a mainstream focus with regard to the association between crimes against animals and crimes against people. As stated by the National District Attorneys Association, “Animal cruelty can be linked to the vast majority of serial killers, many habitual violent offenders, and most children and teens who kill.” Furthermore the abolishment of animal cruelty should be one of the driving forces against terrorism around the world.

The subject of animal cruelty together with the green movement has grown in popularity exponentially world wide, yet media coverage regarding the world’s largest animal atrocity remains dated and vastly uncovered. This barbaric treatment of animals goes against every rule of humanity. With the Beijing Olympics just around the corner, now is the time to increase exposure to China's horrific treatment of animals and inspire a change in China's laws for the benefit of the world. Gandhi said, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way it treats its animals." We have to wonder, how can the host of the Olympics show such indifference to treating animals with such cruelty? We encourage China to provide strong lawful protection for it's animal's welfare before the Games begin. Life is a precious commodity regardless of species.

Stand together with like-minded people who care and take action now to be a voice for change. Turning your head brings the same result as indifference and changes nothing. Please take action to stop this atrocity. It will only take a few minutes of your time, yet those few minutes could help to stop horrific cruelty and save millions of lives.

Do not support China until they change. Please buy products manufactured in your own country. Do not buy Chinese Products. Please join us in spreading the word to encourage other people to take action against this horrific act of violence. Please feel free to copy this information and email it to everyone you know. Boycott China goods. End the atrocity. Stop the suffering and save lives. Be a voice for change.

Let's make this happen!

Get your community involved--tell friends, relatives, co-workers and groups to

Take the BOYCOTT CHINA PLEDGE!

Call and write your local NBC network affiliate and educate them about what’s going on in China. NBC recently started advertising that they’re covering the Olympics. Tell NBC you cannot ignore the suffering China causes to their animals and will not watch the 2008 games.

Tell store owners & managers of small businesses who stock Chinese products that you will no longer patronize their stores until they carry NON-CHINESE alternatives! They will listen--they need our $$ to survive. Remember change comes from the bottom up, not the top down! Target the small retailers first, and soon Wal-Mart and others will take notice and follow.

Stop shopping at Wal-Mart which buys a majority of goods made in China and tell them you won’t shop at their stores until they stop supporting China’s atrocity.

Stop shopping at other retailers who sell fur and/ or other China goods.

Take Action to let bebe's CEO know that you won't shop at their stores until the company stops supporting the bloody fur trade.

Put the heat on bebe by organizing an outreach event outside of a bebe store. There are over 250 outlets throughout the U.S., so find out if there's one in your area. An outreach event can be as large or small as you want: just a few people standing outside of a bebe store for a couple of hours every week with signs and leaflets can educate hundreds of thousands of people in your community about fur. It also sends bebe's executives a message that their customers care about animal welfare, and that the company will lose customers if they continue to market fur.

Compile receipts from NON-CHINESE items purchased; send [copies] to your country's Chinese Ambassador with a "Revenue Lost" boycott letter. The goal is to have millions of these receipts/boycott letters pouring in, every single day, to all 165 Chinese embassies worldwide! …An excellent ongoing project for school, community, civic and church groups.

Make copies of petitions and hand them out as flyers.

Print copies of leaflets, (see below) and hand them out when you see people buying or wearing fur.

Spread the word by posting petitions on websites, blogs and mailing lists!

Write department stores about discontinuing the sale of all fur in their stores.

Tell pet supply stores that sell real fur pet toys about the dog and cat fur trade and ask them to take the fur products off the shelves.

Write editors of fashion magazines that promote fur apparel and tell them about the dog and cat fur trade -ask them to stop printing the fur product ads.

Take action! Do it for the protection of our endangered wildlife and for the millions of domestic and companion animals being tortured and killed as you read this.

“Thank you!” -On behalf of those voiceless souls who are relying on your help.
