As the WIHC has grown, since its initial launch in December of 2005, we now have HOSTS on four continents, and to widen the hosting opportunities (as Care2 only allows five host for each of its free and open groups), we are starting these continental groups, and the original group site will be our MOTHER or PARENT SITE, hosted by those principal hosts from each of the continents in our worldwide group. Thank you for your continuing interest and good work here in the Worldwide Interfaith Healing Circles!
Merril Cook Gardiner, of Canberra, A.C.T., Australia is the new Owner-Host of this www.care2.com group, with complete autonomy in "OZ," and has been involved in the parent WIHC since its start. You can help her a lot, in OZ, by stepping forward to assist her as a Co-Host, and in supporting both the offline and online, real-time efforts of the Australian Circle. Each Care2 group may have five hosts, and all of the hosts, eventually, for this group, will be from the Australian Continent!
Peace, Love, Harmony, Kindliness & Health,
Founder and Director of the WIHC,

We meditate because this world of ours has not been able to fulfill us.
The so-called peace that we feel in our day-to-day life is five minutes of peace after ten hours of anxiety, worry and frustration.
We are constantly at the mercy of the negative forces that are all around us: jealousy, fear, doubt, worry, anxiety and despair.
These forces are like monkeys.
When they get tired of biting us and take rest for a few minutes, then we say that we are enjoying peace.
But this is not real peace at all, and the next moment they will attack us again.
It is only through meditation that we can get lasting peace, divine peace.
If we meditate soulfully in the morning and receive peace for only one minute, that one minute of peace will permeate our whole day.
And when we have a meditation of the highest order, then we get really abiding peace, light and delight.
We need meditation because we want to grow in light and fulfill ourselves in light. If this is our aspiration, if this is our thirst, then meditation is the only way.
If we feel that we are satisfied with what we have and what we are, then there is no need for us to enter into the field of meditation.
The reason we enter into meditation is because we have an inner hunger.
We feel that within us there is something luminous, something vast, something divine.
We feel that we need this thing very badly; only right now we do not have access to it. Our inner hunger comes from our spiritual need.
When you meditate at home, set aside a corner of your room which you can make absolutely pure and sanctified - a sacred place that you use only for meditation.
For your daily meditation, it is best to meditate alone.
Before beginning your meditation, it is helpful to take a shower or proper bath.
It is also advisable to wear clean and light clothes.
To follow the spiritual life, you should meditate at least once a day.
It is best to meditate early in the morning when the atmosphere is calm and peaceful.
When meditating, it is important to keep the spine straight and erect, and to keep the body relaxed.
You will find that your inner being will spontaneously take you to a conformable position; it is up to you to maintain it.
Some seekers like to meditate while laying down, but this is not advisable.
You may enter into a world of sleep or into a kind of inner doze.
Again, the lotus position, which is an advanced yoga posture, is not necessary for proper meditation.
Many people meditate very well while they are seated in a chair.
It will help if you burn incense and candles and keep some flowers in front of you.
The outer flower will remind you of the flower inside your heart.
When you smell the scent of incense, you will gain inspiration and purification to add to your inner treasure.
When you see the outer flame, immediately you will feel your inner flame climbing high, higher, highest.
Proper breathing is very important in meditation.
When breathing, try to inhale as slowly and quietly as possible, so that if somebody placed a tiny thread in front of your nose, it would not move at all.
And try to exhale more slowly still.
If possible, leave a short pause between the end of your exhalation and the beginning of your inhalation.
If you can, hold your breath for a few seconds.
But if it is difficult, do not do it.
Never do anything that will harm your organs or respiratory system.
Each time you breathe in, try to feel that you are bringing into your body infinite peace.
When you breathe out, try to feel that you are expelling the restlessness within and all around you.
After practicing this a few times, try to feel that you are inhaling power from the universe.
When you exhale, feel that all your fear is leaving your body.
After doing this a few times, try to feel that what you are breathing in is infinite joy, and what you are breathing out is sorrow, suffering and depression.
There is also something else you can try.
Feel that you are breathing in not air, but cosmic energy.
Feel that there is not a single place in your body that is not being filled by cosmic energy.
It is flowing like a river inside you, washing and purifying your whole being. Then when you start to breathe out, feel that you are breathing out all the rubbish inside you - all your undivine thoughts, obscure ideas and impure actions.
Meditation does not mean just sitting quietly for five or ten minutes.
It requires conscious effort. The mind has to be made calm and quiet.
At the same time, it has to be vigilant so as not to allow any distracting thoughts or desires to enter.
When we can make the mind calm and quiet, we will feel that a new creation is dawning inside us.
When the mind is vacant and tranquil and our whole existence becomes an empty vessel, our inner being can invoke infinite peace, light and bliss.
It means to let go of continual thinking.... Yes..you have a mind for a reason.. .but it has become predominant and taken over your life.
When you follow your mind and not your heart you are continually in the past or the future...you are figuring something out or taking punts on your life.. Your brain ..just like a computer is constantly assembling information and trying to make something of it..or make it fit somewhere in your past of future.. It never stops and everything that comes into it in each moment takes all of it's attention..figuring..analizing...wondering..judging..condeming... The brain is not spontaneous .. it can only follow or react to what is put into it.
The brain sees things before it but immediately tries to incorporate it into the past or future...it is always summing up...calculating..it's decisions come on past or future thinking. It becomes a crowded mess to the extent that you cannot think strait anymore..it's in overload.
The mind is not reliable. The heart is reliable..it is the center of who we are in the physical. The heart beats to the tune of life.. it simply is..it does not think of the past or future as hearts don't think.
Your heart simply knows what is right and good for you..in the moment..it knows what makes it happy...it is immediate and wise..
Remember to get out of your head and into your heart as much as you can. Your mind tells you who and when to love and puts conditions on it's love.
Your mind does not do your loving..your heart does.
Don't let your mind take over your life... step into the immediate moment and move ..speak and love directly from your heart and just see the difference it makes.
The mind is simply a wonderful tool that has been given us.. it is not not who we are. Who we are dwells within our heart. Your heart knows your path back to the Divine..your head and mind do not...and will lead you on and far away from the hearts true reality.
Your heart awaits your recognition of it's guidance...
Serve the Divine and you serve ALL beings! Attending to the need of an animal or a child ~ you are acting as God's hands and feet.
This is done in an attitude of service and non attachment. Compassion is NOT pity...and it is NOT meant to come from an attitude of superiority. This is how you become a true 'caregiver' to this world. Do not become Dependant on your own giving or attached to the role you play. Do not think of yourself as any kind of savior...this is to display a pride that you enjoy the limelight.
Pride destroys all the energy of our good works..for it is NOT us who act ~ but the Creator within....and if we are truly awake and conscious we will KNOW that.
Jesus ~ Krishna ~ Buddha and all the great Ones never thought of themselves..nor of their role in the world..they were serving The Creator ~ the Universe and Mankind which is the highest Service of All.
They did not consider themselves heroes....they were not self-focused..nor did they neglect themselves in any way. They did not become a 'doormat' for others to walk on.....
They shone their Light and acted only to honor their Creator.
They simply and humbly served the Creator within all creatures.
A service that ...if done right..comes as naturally as breathing.
Compassion Is Nourishing this Earth and all it's inhabitants with Love.

Spirituality is man's boundless freedom in his life boat: the freedom of his life-journey, the freedom from his life pangs and the freedom beyond his life achievements.
In spirituality is man's farthest Vision. In spirituality is man's nearest reality. God has Compassion. Man has aspiration. Spirituality is the consciousness light that unites man's aspiration and God's Compassion. Spirituality tells man that he is God veiled and that God is man revealed.
Spirituality is not an escape from the world of reality. Spirituality tells us what the true reality is and how we can discover it here on earth. Spirituality is not the denial of life, but the purest acceptance of life. Life is to be accepted unreservedly. Life is to be realised soulfully. Life is to be transformed totally. Life is to be lived eternally.
Spirituality is not the song of ignorance. It is the mother of concentration, meditation and realisation. Concentration takes me dynamically to God. Meditation silently brings God to me. Realisation neither takes me to God nor brings God to me. Realisation reveals to me that God is the Bluebird of Infinity's Reality and I am the Golden Wings of Divinity's Truth.
Spirituality has taught me the difference between my speech and my silence, between my mind and my heart. In speech I try to become. In silence I am. When I open my mouth, God closes my heart. When I close my mouth, God opens my heart. My mind says, "God needs me." My heart says, "I need God." My mind wants to possess God's Creation while negating it. My heart wants to embrace God's Creation while serving it. My mind says it does not know whether it thinks of God or of itself. At times my mind feels that since it does not think of God, neither does God think of it. My heart sees and feels that God thinks of it even if it does not care to think of God.
Spirituality has told me secretly what my supreme necessity is and how I can have it. What is my supreme necessity? God's Blessing. How can I have it? By simply borrowing it from God's Bank.
How can I pay off my debt? Easily! Just by borrowing once again from God's Bank. But I must borrow wisdom and nothing else. Wisdom possessed, debt nullified. Verily, this wisdom is the breath of spirituality.
I am God's experiment. He has given me my name: Science. I am God's experience. He has given me my name: Spirituality. I am God's Realisation. He has given me my name: Oneness-Oneness within, Oneness without.
God is my Reality. Heaven is my Immortality. Earth is my Divinity. On earth I grow. With heaven I become. In God I am.
