Discussions about cyberbullying, how to recognize it, how to contra it, how to get rid of it, how to avoid it.
Billboard
"Cyber-bullying involves the use of information and communication technologies to support deliberate, repeated, and hostile behaviour by an individual or group, that is intended to harm others."
-- Bill Belsey

"Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words will never hurt you".
One of the most evil rhymes one can teach a child... words can hurt people and do so, all the time. The physical violence has for too long overshadowed the mental, emotional, social and psychological violence - done mostly by words.

Bullying causes Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

"Cyberbullying is about human relationships, power and control. Those who bully others are trying to establish power and control over others that they perceive to be "weaker" than them. Those who bully wnat to make victims feel that there's something wrong with them, but victims should know there's NOTHING wrong with THEM. It is THE BULLIES who have the real problems.

Cyberbullying is a particularly cowardly form of bullying.
Cyberbullies can more easily hide behind the anonymity that the Internet can provide.
Cyberbullies can communicate their hurtful messages to a very wide audience with remarkable speed.
Cyberbullying does not provide any tangible feedback about the consequences of using internet to bully others. Cyberbullies don't have to own their actions, as it's usually very difficult to identify cyberbullies, so they don't fear being punished for their actions."

I have noticed that there's some people in Care2, to whom the winning is more important than whom you hurt in the process. They will be using "cheap tactics" just to be able to put you down. I want no-one to be able to do that.
Some people claim I bully people. I don't want me to be able to do that either.

This group was created to help people recognize and deal with bullying, to understand that it's not the VICTIM who's the "abnormal", wrong, ugly in the situation, it's the BULLY.

I wish this group will empower people and help them remember that they are worthy, valuable human beings, whatever anyone says. I wish you reading these topics - you can read even when you're not a member - will find strength and courage to speak for things they find important, hope that someone will hear you and trust in that YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

I really do hope we'll manage to drive out the bullies who push other people down and drown their voice.

Last reply by Veli : Bullies particularly dislike people with high creativity, integrity and empathy. These are things that bullies completely lack.   Those people are also people that are easier for the bullies to target, because they... more»
