Find a local CSA! A CSA is Community Supported Agriculture. They can be found all over the country and provide a variety of fresh veggies & fruit and sometimes meat and eggs. You get lots of food for your money and although they may seem like a lot of money up front, they are really a great deal. A local CSA here in SE Nebraska ends up being approximatly $15 a week for a ton of veggies and eggs. The food changes from week to week depending on what is in season, but it is always good stuff. Because a membership in a CSA typically provides enough food for approx. 4 people, going in together with a friend or neighbor can make the initial investment seem a little less overwhelming. Now is the time to get your CSA membership because they fill up fast! Check out localharvest.org to find one near you.
