Open Imbolc Ritual,S.Ca(L.A>),CA,USA January 30, 2008 9:27 AM
Friday Feb 1st 7pm Imbolc Ritual
– Imbolc or Oimealg, is derived from the Gaelic Oimelc. Animals have given birth to the first offspring of the year. Life is beginning to renew in the harshness of winter. In the ancient times of the northern regions, people gathered to see who had survived the winter and shared what foods they had with those who had run short. From now until Ostera the pathway is less dark. Thus our journey shall be made through the spring equinox renewed in strength and happy in love.
At Enchanted Deva's we gather for rituals between 6:30 and 7:15, the doors are locked at 7:30. Rituals usually last until 8:45-9pm. Our Sabbat rituals are conducted by Lady Morgaine, an eclectic solitary. Our space is open and we are delighted to welcomes all traditions and paths, we only ask that you come with an open mind and heart. We have found that a diverse variety of participants creates a well rounded circle.
We ask for a $10 donation, this goes to the priestess and the space to help defer costs for the event. If this is a burden to you, we ask that you donate what you are able to, in appreciation for the ritual.
As this ritual will be held on a Friday evening, we will follow the ritual with a traditional POTLUCK.

*** The Covenant of the Goddess is one of the largest and oldest Wiccan religious organizations. Wicca, or Witchcraft is the most popular expression of the religious movement known as Neo-Paganism. Wicca or Witchcraft is the fastest growing religion in the United States according to the Institute for the Study of American Religion. It's practitioners are reviving ancient Pagan practices and beliefs of pre-Christian Europe and adapting them to contemporary life. The result is a religion that is both old and new, both traditional and creative.
The Covenant of the Goddess is incorporated as a non-profit 501(c)(3) religious organization in California, though it has grown to be an international organization. It is a confederation of covens and solitaires of various traditions, who share in the worship of the Goddess and the Old Gods and subscribe to a common code of ethics. The Covenant holds a Grand Council annually to decide matters which require deliberation by the full membership. Decisions are usually made by consensus. We publish a newsletter; issues ministerial credentials on request to qualified persons; sponsors a national festival each summer; and encourages networking nationally, as well as regionally through local councils.
CoG was founded to increase cooperation among Witches and to secure for Witches and covens the legal protection enjoyed by members of other religions. ***

Pombagira, an Orisha in the Afro-Brazilian pantheon, is the Sacred Harlot of Rio de Janeiro. Through rhythm, dance, guided meditation, and discussion, we will explore the gifts that she offers to those who work with her energy. She teaches self-confidence and love of the body and mind. It’s not necessary to have any experience working with Pombagira before this workshop, only an openness and willingness to do the work.
Her colors are black and red in all traditions, and often white is added as a bit of a buffer, representing for this work: power (black), passion (red), and intent (white).
In this workshop we begin the process of understanding and integrating passion into our lives. We will start the work by examining the difference between living in our passion (joy) and being dragged about by our wants and needs. This workshop helps us understand why the statement "no pain, no gain" needs to be out of our vocabulary and how to, instead, move towards making pleasure a guiding principle in our lives. This work enables us to live more and more consciously in the world with greater balance, dignity, strength, and grace.
About the Instructor: Ann Argabrite is an ordained Senior Medium and High Priestess in the Orisha-based tradition that she follows. After ordination, she chose to dedicate her spiritual work to Pombagira with the creation of The Heart of the Rose Temple. Her work is recognized by leaders in various traditions, such as Brazilian Umbanda and Santeria. She began and continues sharing her workshops as a tool in her own spiritual growth to better know and understand Pombagira. She has been presenting these workshops for 9 years and the work continues to grow and change each year. Ann lives in San Francisco and will be traveling to Southern California to teach the workshop.

The Pasadena Pagan Meetup will be tomorrow, Tuesday, August 7th, at 7:30 pm. (Sometimes we get started around "Pagan Standard Time" or later; but if you get there a bit early, it's a pleasant place to wait for a bit.)
Our Meetups are free to attend, and open to all pagans and pagan-friendly folks. You do not need to be a Meetup.com member to come to the meetup. But if you do join up, then it will be easier for you to find out about events.
We'll have a "Meetup" sign so you can find us; it says "Meetup" and has a Moon and pentagram. We may be inside or outside on the front or back patio. Late arrivals are fine, but if you come too late you might miss us. We usually go until around 9:30, but sometimes we wrap up earlier or later than that.

From east of Pasadena: Take the 210 freeway west, exit at Sierra Madre Blvd. Continue on the offramp past the first light, until you get to Altadena Blvd, then turn left (south). Continue until you hit Colorado Blvd, then turn right.

Spiritual Consulations by Lucumi author Ochani Lele Wednesday August 8th & Sunday, August 26th
Divination cost $31
The Lucumi (Santeria) faith is an ancient earth-religion brought from the Yoruba city-states of ancient Africa during the slave-trades into Cuba and the rest of the New World. It combines the wisdom and power of the African deities known as the orishas with modern sensibilities.
As a spiritual system, the Diloggun, is more than a tool of divination. It is a transformational process, a spiritual ritual, and the forces set in motion when the oracle is cast upon the diviner's mat deterimines, shapes, and assists the client's future evolution.
Ochani Lele has written 3 books on the divination systems of Santeria: The Diloggun; Obi: Oracle of Cuban Santeria; and the The Secrets of Afro-Cuban Divination. Under his real name of Sutart Myers, he wrote: Between the Worlds: Witchcraft & the Tree of Life, a program of spiritual development.

$10 donation per person
Christopher Tims is a travelling Mystic being drawn to various cities throughout the United States, Canada & Australia, sharing his workshops, lectures and teachings, since January 1998. He is also an author of The Eternal Teachings.
Sound Energy Dyamics is Chris' unique alternative healing. This technique of healing dates back to the ancient times in Tibet. The Lamas would use bells and bowls over and around the body to clear chakras and restore balance. Christopher Tims has adapted this technique by replacing the bells and bowls with tuning forks.
This work is the most transformative set of tools that Christopher has assembled. It will help you remove unwanted routines, habits, and ruts directing you towards the realization of your hopes and dreams. Beyond a healing modality, the purpose of this work is to give you fresh ingredients to add to the recipe of your life. All you need is to be open, to be interested in improving the quality of your life, to be curious enough to explore and to have the courage to venture beyond that which you now know. http://soundhealing .org/
Healing Sessions by Christopher Tims Saturday, September 1st 11 am - 6 pm

Event: Lammas 2007 - The Sacrifice of the Crown Dates: July 27-29, 2007 Location: Private Campground - Angeles National Forest, California Registration: $20 per person
This year we'll be continuing the mysteries of the Sacred King cycle that we've been following all year. At Lammas, the Sacred King sacrifices himself and his worldly desires in order to gain spiritual enlightenment and become a god for his people. To commemorate this event, we'll have a traditional wicker man ceremony where an effigy of the Sacred King, made entirely of vegetable materials, is burned in the sacred bonfire representing his death and transformation into the divine. Inside the wicker man, offerings of fruits, vegetables, wine, honey, chocolate, grains and flowers will be placed as symbols of gratitude for our personal growth and evolution in this Sacred King Year. Additionally we'll be fashioning crowns out of dried flowers and paper that we'll sacrifice into the fire as a symbol of our own personal sacrifice of our worldly attachments in order to move into the role of priesthood for our people.
We would love to have you join us for our event! This event is open to the public, so feel free to invite your interested friends of "like-mind"! To find out more information about our Lammas Event, visit http://thedcwblog. com and look at "Upcoming Events"

12:00-1:00 THE QUEEN OF SHEBA WISDOM ORACLE: IGNITING THE PASSION WITHIN ~ Presenter: Miri Hunter Haruach
With in each of us lies the potential to live fully alive embracing our passionate selves. In this workshop we will tap into that potential, bring it into form and enable our consciousness to develop a plan that will initiate ourselves as leaders and creators. Using the Queen of Sheba as a model, this workshop employs "The Queen of Sheba Wisdom Oracle" as a guide to assist us in the healing our deepest selves. Now is the time to bring all of our divinity forward to heal ourselves, our community and our planet.
Miri Hunter Haruach Ph.D., Director of Project Sheba, and part owner of the Magdalene Center in Los Angeles CA, has taught at colleges and universities throughout the country. Her one woman shows include "Grandmothers of the Universe," "The Queen of Sheba? Yes I Am." and "The Pregnancy Diaries." She has two recordings "Harvest of the Heart" and "The Ways of Love." www.projectsheba. com
1:00 – 2:00 OPENING A BEAUTIFUL WORLD ~ Presenter: Patrick Turnbull
This workshop will focus on how healing the planet and healing one's self go hand in hand in creating a more beautiful world. A meditation will prepare us to explore ways in which to open to what the Mother Earth needs, and her strict rules of engagement. Whether or not you are a home owner with a garden, an apartment dweller with a balcony or patio, or just too busy to find time for a walk in the park, there are ways to make interaction with nature a beneficial and healing experience.

Blåkulla Hall, the regional Hall of the Rune-Gild in Southern California, cordially invites you all to our upcoming Walpurgisnacht Ritual. In the folk traditions of Northern Europe the Eve of May 1st, “Walburga’s Night,” is a time of mighty magic and dark mystery, when witches and sorcerers are summoned to a sacred hill or mountain to learn their secret arts and to revel at wild unearthly feasts. It is a night when the Huldrufolk, the Hidden People, leave mound and hill to move across the surface of the earth: a night of transvection and transformation, when the walls between the worlds are thin and unseen forces hear our call…
Join us for a seasonal working that draws on ancient Northern myth and ritual practice to explore the secrets of the sacred Mountain, Hill, and Mound in Germanic folklore. Come and drink from the Cauldron of Inspiration at the heart of the Mountain of Mystery!

Group dynamics & the Art of Covencrafting - Mar 10th Posted by: "Merry Meet" WizardMountain@yahoo.com wizardmountain Tue Feb 20, 2007 8:58 pm (PST) Back by popular demand, Group Dynamics and the Art of Covencrafting. If you missed it the first time, this is your chance to catch it this time. This is an advanced course on a Priesthood level on how to successfully run a group or coven.
To have a successful coven requires a good leader. Good leaders are not born, they are trained. Behind a good leader is always a good teacher.
Interested in forming a coven? Does your group seam to be peppered with problems? Looking to improve your leadership skills?
The difference between a vibrant coven and a spiral into chaos is management. Within this workshop shall be presented structure, techniques and emphasis on prioritizing specifically designed for the successful operation of social entities such as spiritual groups and covens. The concepts we shall cover are designed to aide you in formulating the shape and form of your group as well as implement the measures required for it’s continued success. In addition, we shall cover the common pitfalls that can cause groups to fall apart as well as solutions to such problems.
Workshop: Group Dynamics & the Art of Covencrafting Location: Temple of Ancient Wisdom Address: 13721 Springdale, Westminster, CA 92683 **Look for the Witchy house with the dangly witchy chimes.** Date: Saturday, March 10th, 2007 Time: 2pm to 4pm Admission: $20

Beginning Alchemy
Begin to learn the unique and forgotten talent of the Alchemist. No….not the turning of metals into gold but how to become a modern alchemist, to learn how to build your elixir to attain growth and wishes. Learn how to blend the oils and herbs and metals using their planetary and elemental aspecting in a mathematical format. To build personal and more powerful blends. Learn how to blend your formulary and be able to read other formulas within the Books of Blends and know if they are right or wrong from an Alchemists point of view. Learn the common misconceptions and mistakes. In this course we will break down the oils/herbs into a mathematical equation of planetary influence. From there you will learn how to build the most basic formulas and blends. Alchemy is the basis of most, if not all, of the pagan paths. In this course you get the opportunity to learn from an actual working modern master Alchemist.
The nation's oldest occult store, Panpipes Magickal Marketplace, is proud to announce that Jymie Darling, Co-Owner of the store and director of Pagan Days Festival, will be teaching Beginning Alchemy. You will learn about the basic attributes of herbs and oils using planetary aspecting, math and science.
You will have foundational building blocks of the understanding of Modern Alchemy. You will learn how to build the perfected beginning elixir of herbs and oils. At the end of the class you will actually be given the chance to create and blend your elixir with Jymie Darling. The follow-up class on the next week will be to become more advanced using the elements and astrology to fine tune your newly learned skills. Her hands on approach is refreshing and unique to teaching. She actually cares that every student understand and grasp what she is teaching and takes individual time when necessary.
Fiona Horne, reknown Wiccan author and respected figure in the pagan community, has suggested that beginners in her coven take Jymie's courses to get foundational knowledge to begin their paths.
Jymie Darling is a world reknown occultist who has been aired internationally in countries such as Amsterdam, Japan, Ireland and the US. Seen in shows such as North Mission Road and a consultant and occult expert on air and behind the scenes on Court TV, A & E, TLC, Tyra Banks Show, KCOP (Now UPN) News, Ninth Gate, JAG, Pirates of the Carribean II, CSI Las Vegas and many more! She has also been the subject of articles written and interviewed in such publications as Los Angeles Times, The Kalamazoo Daily, Los Angeles Magazine, The Independent, Angelyne, New Times, LA Weekly, Religious Times, Enquirer and many more.
Jymie has been teaching at Panpipes Magickal Marketplace for over 8 years and has been practicing for more than 16 years.
Jymie's past students highly recommend her as a caring teacher with an immense amount of knowledge and an unique but effective personal creative teaching style. There are no bad students, just bad teachers is her motto.
So join Panpipes Magickal Marketplace and Jymie Darling for Beginning Alchemy on Jan 25, Tuesday from 7pm - 10pm at Panpipes 1641 N. Cahuenga Blvd, Hollywood CA 90028.
The class is nicely priced at $15.00...this will be the one time you will get more for your money as Jymie believes that even though the class is worth more, that knowledge and education should be affordable to all.
She won't take more than 20 students so call now to reserve your seat 323-462-7078. Don't deny yourself the opportunity to truly understand why and how modern Alchemy can work for you.
