Way to go Valerie!!  You ROCK!!

  I still haven't figured out yet why this group isn't just jumping ALL the time.  I"m guessing that people are just getting tired of the nuts who are out there who can make up any old thing to scream about, or act like the situation would just go away because "they" said so.

Whatever you decide is good with me!  You CAN put it to a vote, perhaps someone has something catchy to attrack attention.  What is here now is somewhat dated, still applicable, but dated.

A belated Congrats to Valerie, and    to Lena, for inviting me. 

It's going on 3 am, so I should be sleeping, but the Sandman had his hours cut (funds were diverted) and he got hung up in lines 2 through 18, trying to get the right forms to fill out for compensation, before he was finally told he was supposed to be in line 2 to begin with.

Sorry, off topic. I made that up. I get silly with lack of sleep.   

I'll be back tomorrow, hopefully with something demi-inyeeligent to say. ROTF!! I just made a huge typo, but I'm leaving it as proof of how scrambled my brain is at the moment.

Since the 04 elections were over this group hibernated for a while, but wer are gearing up for the 08 election and trying to get everyone back into the gears of putting another Republican in the White House...

I might make mention that regardless of anyone political lean - we should make sure that the person we do put in the White House will be a person who is strong against terrorism... Right now are dangerous times for this country and there are many who would like to see the end of America the land of the free...

Tell me WHY I should even care about the most screwed up political party to walk America since you people don't have a clue and could care less about anyone elses experiences or opinions. My mother taught me to be benevolent and to love one another, not smear and slander. To honor our Constitution and Bill of Rights, not treat it like a "God damned piece of paper". She taught me not to lie, something GW Bush doesn't understand. She taught me the difference between right and wrong, not for the sake of right but for the sanity of it. But most of all she taught me that the God I cherish is not for sale, not for political manuvering or useing as a scape goat for all the evil you people endorse.

Give me ONE good reason to join a bunch of hypocrits in taking over the world, living for money and power, invadeing poor nations and say "Oh, well" to the death and destruction your puney minded president has caused. You can't SEE what is happening? Do you even want to see? Our country is in dire straits; in debt up to our armpits, polarized like never before, being force fed the notion that just because GW Bush says so you'll follow him straight to your grave. Bush is a coward. He is a deserter. He is a drug addict and alcoholic. Most of all he's a loser. Everything he touches turns to mud and blood. He has made cowards out of you by striking his brand of fear in your hearts every time he speaks. And he's not alone in this. He couldn't dream up this stuff by himself; he's incapable of even the simplist decison even though he boasts he's the "Decider".

I fought, and nearly died, in Vietnam and know the horrors of war first hand. Do you? We just had a terrible tragedy at VT and our nations mourns for the victims and their families. But who mourns for the scores of Iraqi civilians that are killed every day because of America's occupation of their country? Bush? Don't believe it. Take a look into his cold eyes and you'll find nothing there. Take a good look at his face. While our country decays all you'll  see is that childish smirk.

Just one more thing. When it comes down to family values each of the Republican canidates have been divorced, some more than once, and have publicly commited adultery. The three Democratic canidates? No divorces, although Bill Clinton had an affair Hillary stood by him during his impeachment, that takes courage. That takes compassion. That takes the capacity for forgiveness, something that this country needs to embrace again.  Edwards's wife has decided to stand by her husband through her battle with cancer because she believes this country needs his leadership. Obama is putting his life on the line, what with all the racists in this country, to lead this country on an edifiying course that honors ALL races and religions.

I love my country. And I love my neighbors. And I want what is best for both. And that is done by replacing the evil within our borders. And I know that politics is not the entire answer. It has to start at home, with our kids and relatives. We need to turn away from the violence that plagues our schools and streets. Violent movies and games leave one cold and detached from the realities of pain and suffering. Shock radio and TV jocks give weak people a false sense of power. I wonder where they will be when this country falls apart? Certainly not out volenteering at a homeless shelter or soup kitchen. They'll be hiding behind those stone walls that surround their mansions. Where will you be? They certainly won't be letting you in any time soon.

All I can ask for is for you to think and study what is going on here; it is not for the good of the people. It's a oneway street. And when it comes down to choosing sides I know where I'll be hanging my hat. I'll take good over evil anyday.

Why are liberals always so angry?  It's not frustration, because believe me, conservatives are frustrated by liberal insanity each and every day.  It's clearly anger... and it always manifests itself in the same way:  an ugly diatribe in which one can imagine if he were saying it rather than typing it, there would be a fair amount of spit flying from the mouth involved.

I'm honestly not trying to be facetious, here.  In fact, for most of my life I thought I was a liberal yet never understood the unproductive outbursts of angst I always saw in my comrades.  But I never had that "anger factor" and always attempted to channel my opinion in a more positive way.  Then when I began to really investigate politics for myself (and no longer simply ate what I was fed through the media) I, of course, came to the conclusion that I was not, in fact, a lefty.  I had simply been hoodwinked into believing that being socially conscious and compassionate for the poor and the environment meant I had to be left of center.

It's a curious thing...

First of all, if you even bothered to read my comment you would plainly see that the words I wrote were not in anger. I, like you, was one who wanted to save the world, one cause at a time, one after the other. Believe me, I am far from a liberal. I do believe that the way out of poverty and ignorance is by pulling yourself up by the boot straps and become a productive participant within our system. No one should get something for nothing or have their hand held by the government to survive; that I can get angry about. But our system has been abused and will be left for broke if we Americans do not make a stand against those abuses.

The few men that are willing to gamble our lives away have an agenda that I, and millions of others, can never support simply because it is wrong. If your an aware Republican you might be familiar with the Project for the New American Century (PNAC) that has been set in motion for several years now (I highly recomend that you take time to at least read it). This plan runs the gamut of just about every form of aggresion you can imagine. It calls for a gigantic military, as if 2 million isn't enough already. It calls for complete domination of the world economy and has been disguised as NAFTA and other trade agreements like it. This is really kind of ingenious and very devastating; it will backfire. Get a population to rely on unsustainable, low paying employment in the service industry, which dominates our country now, and you have the perfect situation to control our people through our pocket books. The next step is to insure that no one will go up against the government meddling in our lives; you simply take away the peoples civil rights and make the Constitution look like it is just an essay on wishful thinking (habeas corpus ring a bell?).  And while all these things, and more, are going on you de-regulate our banking system, our corporate system, our energy system (three buck gasoline is just the tip of the iceberg), and our medical system (which includes pharmacuticals), you allow our very homes to be placed in jeopardy by allowing lenders to regulate themselves and to top it off you strike fear into the hearts of honest, hard working men and women. And the best way to do that is, what else, start an un-winable, un-ending war. And all the while you propagandize the opposition; you control the mainstream media and put in place a line-up of fear, hate and racist mongers to spread the word, for great sums of money of course. You do your damndest to make them appear evil and, like you said, nothing but angry complainers and whiners that want to tear our country apart one moral institution after the next.

I concider myself an informed, concerned citizen that simply loves the truth. I don't vote party lines because to put all my eggs in one basket is about the best way to insure all of the above won't be stopped from happening during my life time or the lifetimes of my kids and theirs, and theirs...

I signed up on this group site to have a clear-headed, open-minded and productive dialogue with other concerned, decent and honest people like the introduction to the site mentioned. I'm not participating to ram my views down anyones throat or change what they feel is right. This is what our country needs now.

You paint a pretty picture for the democrats yet have you looked into what's behind these people like you have Republicans? No one is perfect but most democrats have just as much or more skeletons in their closet as well! So you say it's not a political problem but it is! What you say about Bush is your own opinion and beliefs. You have no proof of half the stuff you write about him here yet you fail to mention the other side as well! To me it sounds like you have a personal problem! Before you rant on about how bad the Republican party is how about doing some research for a change!

Did I say something to the effect that I was looking forward to a little intelligent dialouge? Guess I'm not going to get much outta you guys. Damn shame you ask me. It's only our country going down the tubes. Oh, well...

Ya want proof? There's plenty more to come... Hang in there, take a couple deep breaths, yea..., compose yourselves and face some scary facts..., and I haven't even gotten started on the lousey Democrats yet...

Did you all know that Monica L had a Birthday recently??

  It seem like just yesterday that she was crawling around on her hands and knees,,,, on the White House floor...

  The intelligent dialog will come, don't worry.  It is apparently just a bit soon for some.  I'll do better in the future though after I've taken care of some 3D world needs.

  One thing has my attention in a serious way though.  Doesn't Virginia require mental institutions to maintain records on those who they treat, and show aggressive or suicidal tendencies?

  How did this person, even after being admited for evaluation, be allowed to purchase not one gun, but two?   Why was there no follow up to his actions after being release from the institute? 

  I understand the liberal view of not wanting the Government involved in thier lives and all, but even most of them should have wanted this person detained for his own protection, and now obviously, other people's safety!

  I still find it strange that the liberal view, especially the extreme left, whine about the Government being "invasive" towards thier private lives, yet expect the Government to just give them a high standard of living, without them having to actually earn that standard?

  Why is it so hard to understand that a conservative point of view supports smaller Government, and each person being a lot more responsible for themselves, and not on others to provide for them??

  Why is it wrong to stop the mass killings and probably genocide in Iraq, yet these same complainers raise hell about no one stopping the same thing in Darfur? 

   No matter what happens on the world, someone will be unhappy.  I support Peace, but not at the cost of allowing mental midgets to come into our Country, and blowing the heck out of whatever media grabbing landmark they can get to.

  To set an actual date to exit Iraq would be a monumental mistake.  Why in the world would we want to give the terrorists a set date to circle, knowing that they can probably do whatever they want to, after that date has passed...

  Food for thought..

For those who believe that it is the fault of the Government, that we are now involved in war,, where the hell were YOU when all the telltale signs were there???  How many embassies have to be attacked?  How many ships have to be blown up?   How many innocent civilians have to die, before true action is taken??

  Like hiim or not, at least George Bush refused to back away from the maniacs who brought down the towers, and the network of lugnuts that support those actions.

  It is still my opinion that, if there had not been an attack on our own soil, we would not be at war now.  Bush had very good intentions, and had spent considerable time WITH the Democratic supporters, in a true effort to bring all sides together, for the benefit of our Nation.

  Of course, the more liberal among us seem to forget that, the information available at the time of the attack, was assembled during the previous administration as well...

These things are in place. Patriot Act II, Military Commisions Act, etc.

If major opposition springs up, i.e. the Vietnam anti-war movement, Georgie has given himself total power to declare a police state and arrest, detain and deny due process for as long as he sees fit. Oh, and stash you where no one will ever find you.  Also he can sieze all personal property and, it will be the first time in history, use the US military, National Guard, FBI and CIA to enforce any of his commands in the US.

A little over the top, no? Be careful what ya say on the internet I guess.

Unless you are working for Al-Qaeda you as an American citizen should have nothing to fear. The Military Commission states!

 The text of the law states that its "Purpose" is to "establish procedures governing the use of military commissions to try alien unlawful enemy combatants engaged in hostilities against the United States for violations of the law of war and other offenses triable by military commission."

 And as far as the Patriot Act goes it doesn't bother me if the Government wants to do a full background check. My terrorist record is clean. Most Americans are! But if it hadn't been for the Patriot Act they wouldn't have caught this operation in North Carolina! So I am all for it!

Private Perez was killed by a car bomber at a vehicle check point.
There’s only 5 Marines in the picture now.

Sergeant Silva lost the use of his left leg after a rocket attack and now is
addicted to painkillers and booze.
There’s only 4 Marines in the picture now.

Lance Corporal Dubois joined the Marines to help conquer his heroin
addiction. After 3 years clean and sober, he came home from Iraq a broken
man, and turned back to heroin.  He overdosed two months after we got back

Corporal Allen’s stress and emotional problems got the better of him and he
started beating his wife and children.  2 years after Iraq he’s in prison,
without a family.

Private First Class Anderson got dishonorably discharged for drug use 5

war is hell.  It breaks my heart that war has to be.  But so long as man has malice in his heart there will be war. 

The picture you've painted with your words is gut-wrenching, but so is government-sanctioned rape of little children and torturous murder in the public square of innocents.  As long as these things occur we have a duty, a responsibility to step in and protect these defenseless ones not only for their sake but to ensure that we are not the future defenseless ones.

There are people in many other parts of this world who need protection and salvation (and I'm not talking in the spiritual sense here) but you simply cannot save everyone all at once.  You can, however, eat that elephant of evil one bite at a time.  And that, my friend, is how I view our involvement in the Middle East.

Hey, I'm new here.  It's nice to find some like minded people.  I joined care2 about a year ago but I didn't explore what they had until today and just found out about the groups.  I signed up for the petitions a year ago and it seems the only petitions I get are from liberals, do any republicans send petitions?

Hey Kerry, it might have been better to say donkey of evil instead of elephant.  I just thought it was funny the way it came across.

Problems with words and labels

Hi all, I never thought I would vist a republican site (this is my first visit) but I felt I wanted to be open to all viewpoints.  I consider myself liberal but in some areas conservative.  I don't fall into a catagory of an "angry liberal" ...I'm a very happy person. I don't care for the labels put on opposing sides ...I think it's very disrespectful and inaccurate to make negative generalizations about a group of people.  I believe most differences stem not from ideology anymore but what the actual truth is.  The problem is that we are all heavily invested in seeing the truth from our own personal history.

    I see huge contradictions in ideas about death ie, we believe in the death penalty but not abortions or vice versa.  From both side we know that politicians are the biggest liars and thieves. Lyndon Johnson and Richard Nixon were two of the biggest traitors that our country has seen.  My point is that maybe we can look less at Dems and Repubs as good or bad , just having different personal history and affiliations. Morally I think we all want a good safe home for our children and our neighbors. We just disagree on how to get it.  I personally feel that corporate interests have way too much power over the politicians.  I wonder how the republican side feels about that, especially with this administration.

I'm not really a Republican per se, but I am a huge fiscal conservative, a quality which seems to be lost on most of today's so-called "conservatives". I agree with Republicans on some things and Democrats on other things. For example, I agree with the tradtional Republican positions of states' rights, individual liberty, and financial responsibility (again, only Ron Paul represents these traits), and I agree with Democrats in that homosexuals should be allowed to marry (it's between them and their church, not up to the government), and that the occupation of Iraq is merely a ploy to make money for a group of people who are already outrageously wealthy. I'm undecided on abortion, I don't know at what point life begins. The two party system is inherently flawed, two parties can't represent the views of 300 million people. Both parties serve the same money, so it's a false choice anyway. The owners of America want to give us the illusion of choice so we don't notice what they're really up to, like the North American Union and the REAL ID.

"I see huge contradictions in ideas about death ie, we believe in the death penalty but not abortions or vice versa."  Really?!?  Because I don't see a contradiction.  Criminals on death row have commited a crime worthy of death.  Usually several murders or other forms of abominable crimes.  Abortion on the other hand is murder of an innocent life that has not even had a chance to break one of the commandments yet, so there is a big, huge, astronomical difference.  The fact that you can't see it points to the conclusion that you MUST be a liberal.  And those "labels" that we give liberals, they've earned those.

There's quite a few things I have disagreed with you on and I just found another one.  How could you not know at what point life begins?  You have conspiracy theories about the war and believe Ron Paul, yet you don't know when life begins?!?  At conception the cell starts changing and growing and at that point it is a baby, a human life.  It may not look like much yet but that is the point at which getting rid of it becomes murder.  That's the black and white, plain and simple truth.

let me see  oh ya  911 was a hoax  so the oil people could get rich  it didnt really happen   the  oil companies shouldnt be allowed to make that  much profit  (there  must be  one  old guy putting all that  money in a shoe box)

Just  sharing a  note  on  groups  I've  been  in, I'm a  bit  of  a  mix  on  my  views  in terms  of  the political spectrum, I've  found  with some  groups  at  Care2 when I post  something  which  might  be  viewed  as  being  right  wing I  am  banned, I'm  glad  to  see   the  tolerance  hear  for  some  left  wing  views, (One  might  call  them  rants from  what I  have  been  seeing  lately)

I'd  comment  that on  least care2 right this  group  sees  the  importance  of allowing freedom  of  expression.

I am a mom, I taught my kids to be benevolent, honest and generous... and to love one another, not smear and slander. To honor our Constitution and Bill of Rights, not treat it like a "God damned piece of paper". ... not to lie, and the difference between right and wrong, And we believe in God the father and the Lord Jesus, always praying for his guidance and teaching. I originally voted for the lesser of two evils, which, in politics unfortunately they are all evil.... Bush was originally voted for because he was against abortion and so am I. I resent the statement that we Republicans are a bunch of hypocrites! I can see what is happening and it's tearing out country apart... YOU can't SEE what is happening! Everyone agreed to this war in the first place, we were all so angry over terrorism, and we wanted to get them all for the destructive acts and murders they were commiting! Maybe it all went way too far, so we are all at fault. OUR countrie's President needs to be respected as such even if he makes mistakes, even if there are things we disagree with him about, he is still the President! Scores of Iraqi civilians that are killed every day because of the actions of terrorists and insurgents wanting to thwart all our efforts to stop them from another dictatorship, dear, not because of Bush. Don't talk to me about Hillary, she only stood by because she had to keep up her appearance, it was all a political maneuver, as I said, all the politicians are evil, in one way or the other.... this one has very communist points of view and a very strong agenda and she scares the hell out of me!   “I love my country. And I love my neighbors. And I want what is best for both. And that is done by replacing the evil within our borders. And I know that politics is not the entire answer. It has to start at home, with our kids and relatives. We need to turn away from the violence that plagues our schools and streets. .... Shock radio and TV jocks give weak people a false sense of power. I wonder where they will be when this country falls apart?” I agree... I feel the same way. We are really not so different. “All I can ask for is for you to think and study what is going on here; it is not for the good of the people. It's a one way street. And when it comes down to choosing sides I know where I'll be hanging my hat. I'll take good over evil any day.” I agree there, too.... However, we have to vote and there is always only a choice between the LESSER of the EVILS! ...................... Think about that.

Let -- Let's be honest. Who here in this room thinks your professors can say what they really believe? (Uh-huh. There's a few....) Well, that scares me to death, and it should scare you too, that the superstition of political correctness rules the halls of reason.

You are the best and the brightest. You, here in this fertile cradle of American academia, here in the castle of learning on the Charles River. You are the cream. But I submit that you and your counterparts across the land are the most socially conformed and politically silenced generation since Concord Bridge. And as long as you validate that and abide it, you are, by your grandfathers' standards, cowards.

Here's another example. Right now at more than one major university, Second Amendment scholars and researchers are being told to shut up about their findings or they'll lose their jobs. But why? Because their research findings would undermine big-city mayors' pending lawsuits that seek to extort hundreds of millions of dollars from firearm manufacturers.

Now, I don't care what you think about guns. But if you are not shocked at that, I am shocked at you. Who will guard the raw material of unfettered ideas, if not you? Democracy is dialogue. Who will defend the core values of academia, if you, the supposed soldiers of free thought and expression lay down your arms and plead, "Don't shoot me."

If you talk about race, it does not make you a racist. If you see distinctions between the genders, it does not make you sexist. If you think critically about a denomination, it does -- does not make you anti-religion. If you accept but don't celebrate homosexuality, it does not make you a homophobe.

Don't let America's universities continue to serve as incubators for this rampant epidemic of new McCarthyism. That's what it is: New McCarthyism. But, what can you do? How can anyone prevail against such pervasive social subjugation?

Well, the answer's been here all along. I learned it 36 years ago, on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C., standing with Dr. Martin Luther King and two hundred thousand people.

You simply disobey. Peaceably, yes. Respectfully, of course. Nonviolently, absolutely. But when told how to think or what to say or how to behave, we don't. We disobey the social protocol that stifles and stigmatizes personal freedom.

I learned the awesome power of disobedience from Dr. King who learned it from Gandhi, and Thoreau, and Jesus, and every other great man who led those in the right against those with the might.

Disobedience is in our DNA. We feel innate kinship with that disobedient spirit that tossed tea into Boston Harbor, that sent Thoreau to jail, that refused to sit in the back of the bus, that protested a war in Viet Nam.

In that same spirit, I' m asking you to disavow cultural correctness with massive disobedience of rogue authority, social directives, and onerous laws that weaken personal freedom.

But be careful. It hurts. Disobedience demands that you put yourself at risk. Dr. King stood on lots of balconies. You must be willing to be humiliated, to endure the modern-day equivalent of the police dogs at Montgomery and the water Cannons at Selma. You must be willing to experience discomfort. Now, I'm not complaining, but my own decades of social activism have left their mark on me. Let me tell you a story.

A few years ago, I heard about a -- a rapper named Ice-T who was selling a CD called "Cop Killer," celebrating the ambushing and of murdering police officers. It was being marketed by none other than Time/Warner, the biggest entertainment conglomerate in the country -- in the world. Police across the country were outraged. And rightfully so. At least one of them had been murdered. But Time/Warner was stonewalling because the -- the CD was a cash cow for them, and the media were tiptoeing around because the rapper was black. I heard Time/Warner had a stockholders meeting scheduled in Beverly Hills, and I owned some shares of Time/Warner at the time, so I decided to attend the meeting.

What I did was against the advice of my family and my colleagues. I asked for the floor. To a hushed room of a thousand average American stockholders, I simply read the full lyrics of "Cop Killer" -- every vicious, vulgar, instructional word:

I got my 12-Gauge sawed-off. I got my headlights turned off. I'm about to bust some shots off. I'm about to dust some cops off.

It got worse, a lot worse. Now, I won't read the rest of it to you. But trust me, the room was a sea of shocked, frozen, blanched faces. Time/Warner executives squirmed in their chairs and stared at their shoes. They hated me for that. Then I delivered another volley of sick lyrics brimming with racist filth, where Ice-T fantasizes about sodomizing the two 12-year-old nieces

I was using the word "Accepting" (all points of view) in this forum, for insight, debate and understanding the different perspectives of others.

This is a very crucial and important part of this group, always has been.

All points of view are to be shared and expressed here for a reason, however, nobody is saying we must embrace them all.

Well  phrased  Valarie.....personally  I  read a  wide  spectrum  of  the  political world, but  it  does  not  mean  acceptance of  a  wide  range  of  views, and  I  express a  mix  of  views from  my  personal  mind  set.....I  just  wish  the "Liberal" folks  at  care2 would  not  ban a conservative  view  they  disagree with

As long as you still want to play the Left vs, Right game, we all continue to lose.  Our elected officials are completely in the hands of the corporations that bought them - all of them.  They love the national diversion that they have caused with that game.  Now you don't see what whores they are for the multi-nationals. 


Continue to play this senseless game of American against American at your own peril.

... Sorry to see it isn't but then this site has been openly hostile to true Americans since it began.


I have never been a Republican and in fact was one of the Reagan Democrats. 

 I  learned I could not be a demi. because I have morals.



 My party affiliation was American Indep. and currently is Constitution Party.

  This past primary and the coming election have me supporting Republican candidates because they are the last conservatives.


If you love America you would be a conservative.

If not, go to a leftist country and leave the Americans alone.

I actually added a new host to this forum, group... I wrote a welcome and introduction for him and set his access up. I come in now, and ...It is nowhere in sight. Nobody can tell me what happened and now I have to get all my info together again.
