LYRICS & POETRY FOR PEACE

WAR IS OVER NOW!
Written by Warren Jeffrey Motter
Copyright 2006
If all of the money
And all of the pain
That was wasted on war -
That was wasted, in vain
Was used to solve hunger
While love poured like rain
We'd all live in Peace
Knowing war is insane
CHORUS:
War Is Over
If you want it
War Is Over
Do you want it
War Is Over
When you want it
War Is Over...
NOW!
We'd call on the wealthy
Instead of the poor
To donate some wealth, to
Dignity restore
Since we'd have what we need -
Nothing to fight for
Peace would abound, and
We'd all reject war
CHORUS:
War Is Over
If you want it
War Is Over
Do you want it
War Is Over
When you want it
War Is Over...
NOW!
When we'll join together
For Love and for Peace
All the oppressed people
Will find their release
With so much in common
All war would then cease
And, thus, understanding
Would surely increase
CHORUS:
War Is Over
If you want it
War Is Over
Do you want it
War Is Over
When you want it
War Is Over...

Here's a rather depressing, but heart-felt anti-war lyric performed by the band xTc
This World Over
Written by†Partridge/Moulding† -† xTc
Ah well, that's this world over
Ah well, next one begins

Will you smile like any mother
As you bathe your brand new twins?
Will you sing about the missiles
As you dry odd numbered limbs?

Ah well, that's this world over
Ah well, next one begins
Ah well, that's this world over
You sadly grin

Will you tell them about that far off and mythical land
About their leader with the famous face?
Will you tell them that the reason nothing ever grows
In the garden anymore
Because he wanted to win the craziest race
That's this world over

Will you smile like any father
With your children on a Sunday hike?
When you get to a sea of rubble
And they ask ďWhat was London like?Ē

You tell them, ďAh well, that's the world overĒ

Will you tell them about that far off and mythical land
And how a child to the virgin came?
Will you tell them that the reason why we murdered
Everything upon the surface of the world
So we can stand right up and say we did it in his name?

That's this world over
Or so it seems
That's this world over
The end of dreams

That's this world over, over, over and out.

Nobody Told Me

Everybodyís talking and no one says a word
Everybodyís making love and no one really cares
Thereís nazis in the bathroom just below the stairs
Always something happening and nothing going on
Thereís always something cooking and nothing in the pot
Theyíre starving back in china so finish what you got

Nobody told me thereíd be days like these
Nobody told me thereíd be days like these
Nobody told me thereíd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- strange days indeed

Everybodyís runniní and no one makes a move
Everyoneís a winner and nothing left to lose
Thereís a little yellow idol to the north of katmandu
Everybodyís flying and no one leaves the ground
Everybodyís crying and no one makes a sound
Thereís a place for us in the movies you just gotta lay around

Nobody told me thereíd be days like these
Nobody told me thereíd be days like these
Nobody told me thereíd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- most peculiar, mama

Everybodyís smoking and no oneís getting high
Everybodyís flying and never touch the sky
Thereís a ufo over new york and I ainít too surprised

Nobody told me thereíd be days like these
Nobody told me thereíd be days like these
Nobody told me thereíd be days like these
Strange days indeed -- most peculiar, mama

Wasted Ground

Wasted Ground

Iím happy to see you now
Sharing time with others in my name
Iím happy to hear you now
Singing praise but if itís all the same
I just want to tell you now
That sentiment is not where I am found
If you want to patronise, youíre spilling my blood
On wasted ground....

And following through the years
It seems to be that no-one can agree
Just where my name appears
Blessing those who say they follow me
Into the holy wars
Where killing and destruction can be found
But violence is not my cause, itís spilling my blood
On wasted ground....

I donít see what this is all about
I taught you love and all the gentle ways
To spread the truth around
But if my sacrifice is still in doubt
Then Iíve been spilling blood, spilling blood
On wasted ground....

When I came to Bethlehem
I was just a another baby boy
Looking to find a dream
Of turning all the sadness into joy
And some of you followed me
Preaching of the path that I had found
But I had to die for you, spilling my blood
On wasted ground....

If this is my destiny
A graven hero on a plastic tree
For people to hide away
In temples where my children cannot see
Your various practices
But stone and glass are not where I am found
Your riches and majesty are spilling my blood
On wasted ground....

Itís time to open up your eyes again
Itís time to see the world
And see the changes you can bring around
Itís time for justice and for peace again
Itís time to end the killing, spilling blood
On wasted ground....

YOUNG THUNDER

The International Youth Year immediately preceded the International Year of Peace.

'Young Thunder' was the result.

YOUNG THUNDER

Blue skies dressed in grey
Like uniforms of Yesterday
To break the walls with their common sound
Young thunder fills the sky
Young thunder is the cry
For everyone to find some common ground
Foundations they will fall
Beneath the rumble of our call
The old must crumble down before the new
This storm is in the skies
This storm is in our eyes
We won't be blind to what we have to do

[ch.] We are young and we are proud (yeah!)
And we have things to say
We are on a thundercloud (yeah!)
The storm will break this day

War merchants have a care
This storm is breaking everywhere
And it's a herald to our final cause
It's time to end the flood
Of history written with the blood
Of everyone who suffers in your wars
The thunder you can hear
It echoes with a million tears
For those who died and cried for our release
Move over Yesterday
This thunderstorm will clear the way
To build a world where we can live in peace

Can you hear the agitation
Of the coming generation?
If all is lost then we have most to lose
Our future's in the balance
We want to use our talents
To mend the world, we have the right to choose
Tradition wears the chains
That binds Tomorrow in the pains
Of greed and sorrow for our bloody past
It's time for youth to stand
In unity in all the lands
And call for peace, this chance could be our last

YOU DON'T NEED ME

YOU DON'T NEED ME
Cran Herlihy

You don't need to be a sociologist
To understand oppression
You don't even need a degree
You don't need to be a great scientist
To know about the famine
Or talk about poverty
You don't need to be a 3-star general
To know the horror of war
You don't need to be among the wealthy
To understand the poor
And you don't need me
To set you free

You don't need to be a big time lawyer
To want to fight for justice
You don't need the letter of the law
You don't need to be a politician
To know what trust is
I know you've heard it all before
You don't need to be a holy preacher
To know what's right or wrong
You donít need to be a rock & roll singer
To want to sing a song
And you don't need me
To set you free

But when I look outside
My tears fall down like rain
Cos it's the same world as before
And all these experts here
They're driving me insane
To bring us peace they'll start a war
But you don't need me
To set you free

You don't need to be a crystal gazer
To want to see Tomorrow
You don't need the numbers
To see a trend
You don't need to use a cut-throat razer
To want to end the sorrow
You don't need to be alone
To want a friend
You don't need to use a dictionary
If you want to speak your mind
You don't need to be visionary
To understand the blind
And you don't need me
To set you free

WHAT WENT WRONG?

WHAT WENT WRONG?

© Cran Herlihy

In every nation there's a time
For explanation, there's a rhyme
And a reason to be found
And then you're facing your accusers
And placing all the losers
The victims in the ground
You might have thought you had the answers
When they taught you to take chances
But maybe now you've learned
This world's not paid for, it's on hire
And when you play with fire
You get your fingers burned
And what went wrong?
In a world that's crying
For people who are dying
And they don't understand
What went wrong

In every age there is a turning
Of a page and there's a yearning
For secrets of the sun
But every year there is an ending
And a fear that weíre pretending
We've only just begun
To see the battle and the slaughter
One that'll cross the water
In devils cased in steel
And in these visions only seeming
Dull illusions we are dreaming
It never seems quite real
And what went wrong?
When they all stop to mention
How peaceful their intention
Then they invade your land
What went wrong?

Is it a dream
One that doesn't seem quite real?
Are we immune?
Deaf to the tune of screaming steel?
Can we ignore
The plight of East Timor or Palestine?
Afghanistan,
Or all those lands out of mind?

And I've just begun to wonder
Whose rules we're living under
And what we're fighting for
Is it the age of the idealist
Or the raging of the realist
That calls the guns to war?
We hear the laughter of the children
But after you have killed them
Silence is your prize
And in a future undecided
Even though we try to hide it
You'll see it in our eyes
What went wrong?
Will they ever find solutions
To the fissions and the fusions
And will they understand
What went wrong?

SHADOWS ON THE WALL
by Cran Herlihy

Chase the ripples in a glass of wine
Dream about a life that's fine
Take a trip across an open sea
To a land that's free
For you and me
Thatís where Iíll be
Down the alley of endless time
In a fog that clouds the mind
Ah the silver birds take flight
Scream into the night
But it's alright, my child,
Itís alright
And as the sun comes shining thru
On me and you
Designing the shadows on the wall
That's all
Defining the shadows on the wall

Over cities in a pre-dawn haze
Turn the night into brightest days
With missiles now to keep the peace
Go on and press release
And Rest In Peace
But the children down below
They never know
They're only the shadows on the wall
So small
Just millions of shadows on the wall

As the children watch the sky
A little girl is asking why
Some people have to try
To find an alibi for
For killing anyone who
Any daughter, any son who
Anybody meets the gun who
Hasn't anywhere to run to
I've seen the right, I've seen the wrong
I've seen the weak, I've seen the strong
I've seen the pain of a world gone wrong
I've seen the horror of a nuclear bomb
And in the smoke and pain
Washed over the blood-soaked stain
Red wind, blackened rain
I heard the words of the Free State's Refrain
That says, says I believe in the power of God
I believe in the state of love
And I will fight for the right to be right
I will kill for the good of the fight to be right
And as the sirens call
Peacekeepers start to fall
Thereís equal rights for one and all
For shadows on the wall
In the desolation children crawl
Past the shadows on the wall
And then I heard the starving cry
Of another victim doomed to die
In my trembling hands
While voices fill the stands
With every woman and every man
Who wants to give peace a chance

And now the time has come to say
We want to throw the guns (bombs) away
We want to let our children play
We want to have some peace today
(Repeat and alternate lyric time)

But the children down below
Never know
They're only the shadows on the wall
So small
Just millions of shadows on the wall

Bomb The World

By Micheal Franti and Spearhead

Please tell me the reason
behind the colours that you fly
please tell me the reason
you want us to unify
you say you're sorry
you say there is no other choice
but how can you feel sorry
when you kill people with no voice

(chorus)
You can chase down all your enemies
bring them to their knees
you can bomb the world to pieces
but you can't bomb it into peace

You may even find the solution
to hunger and disease
you can bomb the world to pieces
but you can't bomb it into peace

The earthquake of anger
simply brings more of the same
military madness
the smell of flesh and burning pain
so I sing out to the masses
stand up if you're still sane
to all of us gone crazy
I sing this one refrain
(chorus)

I say, power to the people

Is This The World We Created ?

by Queen

(Freddie Mercury/Brian May)

Just look at all those hungry mouths we have to feed
Take a look at all the suffering we breed
So many lonely faces scattered all around
Searching for what they need

Is this the world we created?
What did we do it for?
Is this the world we invaded
Against the law?
So it seems in the end
Is this what we're all living for today?
The world that we created

You know that every day a helpless child is born
Who needs some loving care inside a happy home
Somewhere a wealthy man is sitting on his throne
Waiting for life to go by

Is this the world we created?
We made it on our own
Is this the world we devastated
Right to the bone?
If there's a God in the sky looking down
What can he think of what we've done
To the world that He created?

DON'T GO TO WAR!
by Cran Herlihy

Page one, history
Trendsetters of the modern world
Face one mystery for years
Bearing the mark of Cain
My brother's lying dead in fields
Of burning grain and tears
In time destiny
Reveals to all the final scene
And it says to me goodbye
To my family
Those parting words I've heard before
And then I can see they cry
Don't go to war!

And through each dawning age
Bigger, better, brighter and brand new
How the battles rage for years
And in a modern way
Big Brother watches from the stars
Over night and day, it fears
Near, Far or Middle East
And there's the shadow that he's found
Of the Painted Beast who lies
On the shattered bed
The mother shaken from her nightmare screams
All her children dead, she cries
Donít go to war!

In days of future passed
There's the shadow of a cloud
For each question asked
Has found an answer unallowed
In one unity
For better or for the worse
We place our legacy
Tomorrow's child bears the curse

Donít go to war!
Donít go to war! (Donít go crying for war)
Donít go to war! (Donít go dying for war)
Donít go to war! (Donít send your guns into war)
Donít go to war! (Donít send your sons into war)
Donít go to war!

Page one, history
Trendsetters of the modern world
Face one mystery for years
Bearing the mark of Cain
My brother's lying dead in fields
Of burning grain and tears
Donít go to war!

TOMORROW'S CHILD

TOMORROW'S CHILD
†by Cran Herlihy

Tomorrow's child is small and lonely
Tomorrow's child is ready to begin
Tomorrow's child is cold and hungry
Tomorrow's child is paying for our sin
Hold on for Tomorrow's children
Hold on for just a while
Hold on and it's time for Tomorrow's child

Tomorrow's child is young and trusting
Tomorrow's child needs every chance it can
Tomorrow's peace is everlasting
Tomorrow's hope is holding out its hand
Hold on for Tomorrow's children
Hold on for just a while
Hold on and it's time for Tomorrow's child

In a dream (in a dream)
I climbed a mountain (solid steep and high)
And I've seen (and I've seen)
A world below (laid out on the ground)
Where my friends (where my friends)
Had built a fountain (out of stone and love)
Pouring love, sweet love to the world below (to the people there)
Pouring love to the sky
So high, (so high!) so high!
For Tomorrow's child
So high (so high!) for Tomorrow's child
So high (so high!) for Tomorrow

I can see a new Tomorrow
I can see a sunrise bright and clear
I can shake the pain and sorrow
Don't you know that Tomorrow starts right here
Hold on for Tomorrow's children
Hold on for just a while
Hold on and it's time for Tomorrow's child

Eyes of a Child

Eyes of a Child
by Cran Herlihy 1987

Last night I had a dream, I saw an old man

He held the world in his old hands

He felt its heartbeat and made it mine

He stilled the waters and turned back time

And in my dream I saw this old man

Standing on a road in some strange land

And the old man, he just smiled

He showed me life through the eyes of a child

I saw the birth of the universe when time began

I saw the woman who gave birth to that first young man

I saw a million machines of every shape and size

I saw the stars that were scattered through the empty skies

And the old man, he just smiled

He showed me life through the eyes of a child

I saw an endless line of people standing hand in hand

I saw a river choked with dust, I saw the Promised Land

I saw a couple making love in some quiet park

I saw the growing clouds of fire when the sky went dark

I saw a nation praise the glory of a blazing gun

I saw a city that was hidden from the naked sun

And the old man, he just smiled

He showed me life through the eyes of a child

I saw a tree in flames rising from a sea of mud

I saw a torn and twisted flower in a field of blood

I saw a frightened girl crying near the Temple gate

I saw one man act in love, I saw another hate

I saw the slaughter of the forest, I saw the vanished herds

I saw the secrets of the past, I saw forbidden words

And the old man, he just smiled

He showed me life through the eyes of a child

I saw a man who was hated for the colour of his skin

I saw them marching for peace, I saw the war begin

I saw an old woman laugh, I saw a strong man cry

I saw a young man who lived, I saw thousands die

I saw an innocent young man, he was nailed to a tree

I saw that young man again and saw that he was me

And the old man, he just smiled

He showed me life through the eyes of a child

Last night I had a dream, I saw a young girl

And in her tiny hand, I saw a young world

She was primal, yeah she was wild

I saw her eyes, they were the eyes of a child

This song came back to haunt me in Sept 2001 ...

Poem for Peace

Peace Now

Peace is all I hear you say

most people want it now.

But peace cannot really start

while murder stalks the earth.

The war torn people daily mourn

their latest loss and pain.

Children torn by cluster fury

the bombs of greed still primed.

Sudden lives are ended hourly,

arms dealers count their cash.

Our leaders say we will succeed

while endless misery prevails.

Look, the shattered townships lie,

look, the graveyardís full.

Has not the time finally come

for all this killing to stop.

Let the sun peep out the cloud,

Let light shine strongly out,

illuminate the darkest of hearts

to put violent thought away.

Peace is all I want to hear

most people need it now.

But peace cannot fully start

while murder stalks our path.

Blood Filled Skies

posted this poem†on another board but felt that it would fit here as well.

Too many Dying in vain

Feel their Heartache

Feel The Pain

Blood soaked Skies

Tears falling through

The Clouds of Disguise

Weeping through the streets

Let the past not deceit

Strangers in the Land

Raise a helping Hand

Climbing Stairs of Death

Amongst the Rubble and the Rest

Blood Filled Skies

Angels through the Clouds

Thousands just a Number

Soon we wonder

Whatís the Norm

Who Stops the Storm

Too Many ; Too Young

A World Undone

Is This the Peace

Of the puzzle Found

Standing a Higher Ground

Shadows Stand Tall

Overcastting the Fall

Waves pass by

Eagles Cry

Freedom and pain

Heartache as Won

Streets of Despair

Who Really Cares

The Child over there

The Solider over here

Separated by Powers

Together as One

A World awaits

Shining Light Through

Darkened Gates

My daughter is homeschooled, and last year we read George Orwell's 1984. Reading it again (it's been a long time) inspired me to make these images... I don't have any wonderful lyrics or poetry, my poetry has always been about images. So I hope it's acceptable to everyone that I am posting these images here! There's nowhere else for them to go

By the way, wonderful lyrics and poetry by everyone - thanks for sharing! Very inspiring!

I have already posted this one in another discussion (in another group) started by our own Archie ...

but I thought it would also fit here ...

I wrote the Pipes of Old Glory in 1986, long before the first Iraq war ... but even then, the Australian government was keen to put up its hand to help fight any battle the US government wanted ... keep in mind that 1986 was the International Year of Peace ...

The Pipes of Old Glory
by Cran Herlihy
(3/4 time)

Take a feather from the wings of my shadow
Take a flower if you want to be free
Take your time and take all the money
But donít take guns to sea
But the marching bands play Waltzing Matilda
And proud young men would answer the call
And they march through the streets to the Pipes of Old Glory
They march away to war

I recall the stories my father
Told me when I was only a child
How the legends had made them all heroes
How those heroes had died
When the charges were run and the battles were over
And they cleaned their guns and bandaged their sores
And counted their fallen while the Pipes of Old Glory
Sang the ballads of war

And the marching bands play Waltzing Matilda
And jets fly over in deafening roar
And the soldiers all dance to the Pipes of Old Glory
And follow them into war

Now my father is gone but I still hear the stories
As soldiers still gather on Anzac Day
Gather to march to the Pipes of Old Glory
Until they fade away
And still we remember the price of our freedom
The blind and crippled, the lame and the burned
The young men who followed the Pipes of Old Glory
The young men who never returned

And still the band plays Waltzing Matilda
And still the cannons are sounding the call
And still they march to the Pipes of Old Glory
Still they march to war

Let's Impeach The President

Let's impeach the president for lying

And leading our country into war

Abusing all the power that we gave him

And shipping all our money out the door

He's the man who hired all the criminals

The White House shadows who hide behind closed doors

And bend the facts to fit with their new stories

Of why we have to send our men to war

Let's impeach the president for spying

On citizens inside their own homes

Breaking every law in the country

By tapping our computers and telephones

What if Al Qaeda blew up the levees

Would New Orleans have been safer that way

Sheltered by our government's protection

Or was someone just not home that day?

Let's impeach the president

For hijacking our religion and using it to get elected

Dividing our country into colors

And still leaving black people neglected

Thank god he's racking down on steroids

Since he sold his old baseball team

There's lot of people looking at big trouble

But of course the president is clean

Thank God

'Political Winds' by Amber Acker

Some mornings
the whole world seems dark enough
not even the sun can burst forth
rays of enlightenment.
My eyes burn fleeting fissures
in clouds thick enough to choke my mind,
threatening my consciousness
with false mutterings of goodness.
The eeriness of evil
spreads across us like a velvet cloak,
delusionally comforting
to those already caught
in the whirling tornado
of corrupted politics.

Feeling so safe
snuggled deep beneath our patchwork quilt
of army tanks,
military bombers,
and fighter jets,
we eagerly wait for the hate
to trickle down through the system
and settle crushingly on our hearts.
A new black plague ravishes our nation with weakness,
killing the voices that once arose and argued against corruption,
knitting an understanding sheet
to contend the velvet darkness.

The cloud cover grows thicker with each passing day,
shedding no light on a far away land
where blind knights fly into a battle
ordered by a king
who knowingly pulls wool over his eyes,
some how undisturbed
by vicious political winds
whipping around him.

Poems for Peace

War

Drums roll, guns shout

the mighty armyís feet

are heard on wet roads

swishing like souls

as they are taken away.

Proud warriors of peace,

fighting to stop all wars,

itís folly can speak

of blood innocently shed

as your child dies.

There is no glory in this,

itís death to one another.

Why does man fight man,

for a little parcel of land

that no one seems to want

ifyour enemy wasnít there?

It just makes little sense

of all this brave sacrifice,

to gain nothing but death,

carved in pride on stone.

Waiting in Amsterdam

High in a window she sits,

perched above the streets she waits,

ever watchful and awake

on a corner in Amsterdam.

All night long she sits and thinks,

of visions far passion gone,

the voices of the dead dance

before her elderly eyes.

A breeze blows a ripple; She sees!

A late wanderer singing; She sees!

A plane overhead; She sees!

eyes darting never sleeping;

The secret of the grey eyes of dawn,

where screaming herded children die

and ghostly haunting memories pass

before her elderly eyes.

A commotion in the street below,

the dark shine of a limousine;

a door is opened, footsteps on stairs

PanicÖSweatÖDreadÖ

A door two flights down closes.

Then silence. She turns back to the street,

back to the canal and deserted bridge,

before her elderly eyes.

Her youth returns in shades of night,

the girl with open horror eyes

and the secret scream held back

before the terrors of yesterday,

sink thoughts, be still the mind

never again the jackboot at dark,

the dreaded foot upon the stair

the Swastika before the eyes.

She sits there still I fancy,

the nightly vigil faithfully kept,

while pangs of youth grow old,

the curtained face of age

draws memories of those hideous nights

when screams of fear and panic past

still invade the darkened tranquillity

Cut off my last line would you

before her elderly eyes.

In your suburban home you reach for the bandaids

must be a perfect fit,†baby has a "boo boo" on his knee..

you wish you could†take the burning away even to yourself

then suddenly you wonder what do mothers do in Iraq

to take the pain away when pieces of their children

are being scattered everyday?

The People Have the Power - Patti Smith

This is a beautiful poem and song:

People Have the Power

I was dreaming in my dreaming
of an aspect bright and fair
and my sleeping it was broken
but my dream it lingered near
in the form of shining valleys
where the pure air recognized
and my senses newly opened
I awakened to the cry
that the people / have the power
to redeem / the work of fools
upon the meek / the graces shower
it's decreed / the people rule

The people have the power
The people have the power
The people have the power
The people have the power

Vengeful aspects became suspect
and bending low as if to hear
and the armies ceased advancing
because the people had their ear
and the shepherds and the soldiers
lay beneath the stars
exchanging visions
and laying arms
to waste / in the dust
in the form of / shining valleys
where the pure air / recognized
and my senses / newly opened
I awakened / to the cry

Refrain

Where there were deserts
I saw fountains
like cream the waters rise
and we strolled there together
with none to laugh or criticize
and the leopard
and the lamb
lay together truly bound
I was hoping in my hoping
to recall what I had found
I was dreaming in my dreaming
god knows / a purer view
as I surrender to my sleeping
I commit my dream to you

Refrain

The power to dream / to rule
to wrestle the world from fools
it's decreed the people rule
it's decreed the people rule
LISTEN
I believe everything we dream
can come to pass through our union
we can turn the world around
we can turn the earth's revolution
we have the power
People have the power ...

Give us hearts to understand;
Never to take from creation's beauty more than we give;
never to destroy want only for the furtherance of greed;
Never to deny to give our hands for the building of earth's beauty;
never to take from her what we cannot use.
Give us hearts to understand
That to destroy earth's music is to create confusion;
that to wreck her appearance is to blind us to beauty;
That to callously pollute her fragrance is to make a house of stench;
that as we care for her she will care for us.
We have forgotten who we are.
We have sought only our own security.
We have exploited simply for our own ends.
We have distorted our knowledge.
We have abused our power.
Great Spirit, whose dry lands thirst,
Help us to find the way to refresh your lands.
Great Spirit, whose waters are choked with debris and pollution,
help us to find the way to cleanse your waters.
Great Spirit, whose beautiful earth grows ugly with misuse,
help us to find the way to restore beauty to your handiwork.
Great Spirit, whose creatures are being destroyed,
help us to find a way to replenish them.
Great Spirit, whose gifts to us are being lost in selfishness and corruption,
help us to find the way to restore our humanity.
Oh, Great Spirit, whose voice I hear in the wind,
whose breath gives life to the world, hear me;
I need your strength and wisdom. May I walk in Beauty.

EAST MEETS THE WEST

From east the sun rises
and lightens the way
then moves towards west
to the end of the day

Where east meets the west
is the midday sun
its height is a sign
that blending's begun

The fire of the sun
which lightens the heart
is rising within
to see the new start

With inner light shining
a sparkle without
and bubbles all over
and so all about

A balance takes place
'tween outer and in
and where this does happen
a merging begins

In balance 'tween inner
and outer display
together as One sees
the bright light of day

Internally centered
one's external deeds
are motioned with grace
for removed are the weeds

With pure intention
and calmness exposed
a purposeful union
with duality deposed

Let east meet the west
then will be sweet release
no longer division
instead will be peace

I WILL BE THERE -
Written by Warren Jeffrey Motter - Autumn of 2007
We all have the answer
We all hold the key
Don't be the piper's dancer
Then, you'll be truly free
With Love as our power
With Truth as our guide
This is the destined hour
Can't you feel it, inside
CHORUS:
Although blind eyes
Sometimes can't see
No alibis
You'll hear from me
If you should fall
I will be there
To heed the call
And, always care ~
I will be there
Don't look for another
The power's within
So, my sister and my brother
Let's all vow to begin
We all have known sorrow
We each have known pain
But, I see a bright tomorrow
Where all loss becomes gain
CHORUS:
Although blind eyes
Sometimes can't see
No alibis
You'll hear from me
If you should fall
I will be there
To heed the call
And, always care ~
I will be there
I will walk beside you
Each step of the way
No good thing will be denied you
As Love's Light leads the way
Let go of the past, now
Then, you will know Peace
A lifetime of†Truth can last, now
If our fears, we release
CHORUS:
Although blind eyes
Sometimes can't see
No alibis
You'll hear from me
If you should fall
I will be there
To heed the call
And, always care ~
I will be there

PEACE

Life is experiencing
our thoughts, deeds and words
fulfilling creation
we fly like the birds
in freedom we learn that
as God we are ONE
'tis all the same story
for everyONE
purely experience
the soul absolute
its cosmic intentions
no one can refute
for therein is peace
beyond where we've been
there's tangible evidence
of heaven - our dream
the peace which does pass
all understanding
we're moving there fast
with conscious expanding
enlightenment abides
in the heart and the soul
all's calm and accepting
at last we are whole
the presence of Oneness
is such sweet release
for here is the essence
of such perfect peace

Purely Experience Ab-soul-ute Cosmic Enlightenment
