Animals in Love February 27, 2005 5:07 AM

It happens. I have no doubt. Animals have emotions too. I even found tuxedos and wedding gowns for dogs getting married at I think it's really sweet that people understand that animals have heart, too.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
hmm... February 27, 2005 8:23 AM

i agree they have a heart, feelings, love, etc... but why do humans always need to make animals "proove" their abilities by giving them typical human attitudes? Even being humans... why do we need this silly paper to say we love...?  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

Pelagus I think of this differently... humans have animal characteristics, not vice-versa. I mean who knows to what degree they feel what we call "love", after all we can't even put our finger on our own emotions! I care deeply about someone, do I love them? I have no idea. I don't know what love is. I do know that my guinea pigs love to spend timet ogether. They are happier when you bring them out to play with each other, even if it's just sitting on my lap. They make happy noises (someone who hasn't spent a lot of time with gps may not think of them as happy noises, but I know they are... my female will kiss me and snuggle while making these noises) and just snuggle so much when they are together. They are companions... they fight sometimes yes, but for the most part they're pretty fond on each other and I know when one of them passes on, the other will be crushed and go through a depression, grieving just like I will. :(  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
Love birds April 02, 2005 11:00 AM

Perfect example. If an individual in a pair of birds passes away, the other will get depressed and die as well. This is proven, and seen. I've also seen it happen amongst cats and dogs. People are simply no exception. They're just stupid. *wink*  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
I agree April 13, 2005 4:11 AM

When i had two female rats that were close sisters, when i had to have one put down, the other died in a few days. She was perfect in health but the vet reckon she dies of a broken heart. I dont think anyone can deny animals feel bonds just like we do. You cant really ditinguise love as a certain feeling as everyone feels emotions differently. But i like to think animals feel love..and i especially hope they love me like i love them. :)  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
