Freedom

Good morning everybody.

Today is a holiday in Brazil too and I decided to take my time to post some words to you all.  The Columbus Day made me think about the loose of freedom. For the real Americans it was  lost it in 1492, in US;  and in 1500, in Brazil.

As a paradox, since then, we - all people from the Americas - are promoting our Continent as if it were/is the Land of Freedom.  But it is not. We are captives within our own freedom.

I won't make a speech about economical, financial, social or political ideologies. I just want to call your attention to something that is happening now.

I took a look at some groups on Spirituality yesterday, and I discovered that many people here are members of other similar groups also. Nothing new. But my surprise was to see that some members of this (our) group were playing another role at the other groups, and they have been spending  a lot of time attacking this one.  Ok, they are free for doing that.  Their major complaint is that they don't have freedom to post what they want, because the moderators is acting like censors.

Well, this "Land of Freedom" allows us to say what we want to.  But everyplace has its rules, its policies.  I won't judge the moderators - if they are right or wrong is their own business.

We have enough freedom to decide if we want to join it or not.

If I am in this group now it is because I had the liberty to enter it.  And If I am still in it, it's because I am free to decide to stay.  If, one day, I think that this group is not good enough for me, I will leave it.  Simple like that.  No need to acuse, to quarrel, to say bad things about the people.   No need to go to people's profiles to search some hints that support my arguments.

I, personally, don't care about how many members there are in here.    Some people are counting how many people are leaving the group each day.  What for?  They are free to leave.  We cannot be captive to numbers.

Besides, I am not interested in numbers. I am interested in quality.  If only 3 or 4 members remain here - if they still keep the high level of inteligence, civility, politeness and sincerity - I will remain too.  I want to be free to choose what is best for me.

A nice holiday to you all.

Thank You...Ana.....

Okay...somehow...., half my post disappeared when it was submitted...heh. I quoted Ana, to then say how grateful I am for her sharing with us on this subject. I have expressed the same feelings in past discussions that have been very negative with a group of individuals that keep conflict going against this wonderful group. This concept is very basic and very SIMPLE. I highlighted the words of Ana..., that I strongly agree with...., and I hope this post helps to motivate a positive interaction with all....much love and peace...namaste

Thank you Dar and John.

I just tried to express my surprise in relation to some people's behavior in the other group. I would never expect so much criticism in a group on Spirituality.

The world is full of conflicts and we don't need to create some more.

You are right, Dar - this group is wanderful.

Freedom! Interesting points raised there Ana...

Freedom is a small word, with a gargantuan meaning...  In fact, its spectrum of interpretation is almost immeasurable, especially when placed in the hands and/or minds of those who would use it for their own wants, needs or desires...

From the womb to the grave, we are all governed by rules and guidelines of one sort or another...  Without such ~ mankind could not exist in a meaningful way...  Even our own principles amount to personal rules and guidelines, all-be-it principles themselves: are subject to the same inestimable reasoning...

Even freedom of speech has its boundaries ~ and rightly so, when those who would seek to use the written or spoken word,  in a manner that demeans that: held parmount or sacrosanct by others...

Freedom to do what one wants or desires, is far removed from freedom to do what is necessary to achieve a purposeful objective...  And yet some would advocate that under the banner of autonomy, life would be an easier path to follow and/or more purposeful agendas could be achieved...

In the final analysis, there will always be those who 'think' they know better and  whether or not they do: will always remain a constant 'thorn in the flesh' of those who think they don't...   A never-ending conundram ~ 'I think'...

Negative Energy

Anna, thank you for your post, and as Robbie has pointed out, you have raised some very Interesting points…

‘The world is full of conflicts and we don't need to create some more’.

I agree with you on this wholeheartedly, but sadly it never ceases to surprise me, the lengths that some humans will go, in order to disrupt. ‘All that negative energy, and for what’?

The main reason to engage in conflict initially is surely to reach a resolution. Gossip or personal attacks just hinder a positive outcome, and without that, conflict merely becomes an opportunity to recycle old arguments and disagreements.

Bow …

It doesn't surprise me.....

Some individuals "think" they need conflict to exist. It is an escape for them, to avoid their own misery of existence that they have created for themselves. I see it in my own community, and these individuals are everywhere.

I was informed from a member of that group that is slandering this one, that I was accused of being a supporter of ecoterrorism.....lol. yeah. I had to go read it for myself, to see "who" feels they are the "psychic" of the day. I did giggle when I saw who posted it. Hopefully, they will "tend" their actions in the future, and not slander my name, in the future. Seems like they are more into stroking each others egos. I became very humored.., when they seem to think people are leaving.....heh, heh...They shouldn't assume anything. I want to thank Robbie for taking the huge task upon himself to clean out profiles not active in several years. This will take a very long time, as he is very busy with life, too.

We should observe this negative energy for what it really is..., unproductive, attention-seeking, emotional energy. To me, their actions really highlights their dysfunction, and we can tell how accurate our intutions have been with these individuals. Yep, we can learn from them too, along with strengthening our own patience and forgiveness...heh, heh, a lot.

It reminds me of a playground that have some souls desperately seeking attention, in any method the feel necessary. sort of like when my grandchildren stamp their feet and yelp, because they want attention....
