Hello one and all…
In an effort to promote a better understanding between all who frequent these chapters and encourage those who don’t quite have the confidence to join in with full agendas, we’ve opened this topic so that people can chat about matters that are on their mind...
Such might be a simple thought that has crossed the mind; which hardly warrants a topic in its own right… Some might wish to know how another individual arrived at a certain point in their journey through life and invite that person to join them at the table to discuss the matter or maybe explain it in more detail…
As long as everything remains polite, to the point, without ridicule or sardonic humour, there’s no reason why anyone cannot have their say…
I’ve mentioned the latter, because there are people who either don’t understand or take kindly to: such turns of phrase… Enough said…
I suppose one might consider this as something of an experiment… Perhaps it is and will be worthwhile ~ maybe not; although it is hoped that it will at least: have a positive outcome…
I’d like to thank you in advance for any support or interest you may feel able to provide…
The last will be the first, so, as I am one of the "last ones" I begin.
Well, I think I have already mentioned my expectations regarding this group and I just want to add the importance of respect among us all. We are here to discuss IDEAS and not people.
I think the purpose of this group is to share ideas. The sharing allows us to compare our ideas with the other's ones. It does not mean that we have to change our minds to agree with the them. We can even confirm our own ideas!
That's all I have to say for the moment.
Thank you all.
A thought that has often crossed my mind is this:
When we begin to learn we are told the names of everything around us and we learn them; this helps with our communication, but do we see things the same?
For instance…I see a blue sky, I was told that the name of the colour of the sky was blue, but do I actually see it the same as you??? How would I ever know???
Bow...

Here we have this saying (maybe you have it too):
There is a glass of water on the table. The water reaches the middle of the glass. Some people look at that glass and say that it’s almost full. Some others look at the same glass and say that it’s almost empty. WHO is looking at the glass? That’s the question.
Bow, you were taught the sky is blue and you see it blue. But you’ll always find people who will see it light-blue and people who will see it dark-blue. We will never see the same sky until we learn to see it through other’s eyes. We have a long road to go until we learn it completely.
That of course is the optimist come pessimist enigma... As you're no doubt aware Ana, the Zen or Buddhist theory on that scenario, is that a container (glass, cup ~ etc) is never empty; for in emptiness there is fullness: ~ that of space...
As for colours, we see what we've been programmed to see ~ nothing more: nothing less... If for instance, we had never seen or heard of colours [as might those people who live in unexplored parts of the world] might the descriptive factor of prismatic observation, be more alligned or associated with: the essence of surroundings rather than having a need to bring a colour code system into being...
Just my casual thoughts about the previous...
Programming appears to be the key to quite a lot.....
Interesting thoughts....
I don't know - It's the first time I am thinking about that. For the moment what I have experienced in my own life is that programmes sometimes change due to external events and, unexpectedly, we are put in other's programme, playing a role that we did not intend to, and looking at the sky with "other eyes". But that's the way I am interpreting my changes until now.
Looking for to hearing other opinions.
The individual faces many forms of programming during a lifetime... These can range from complying with simple and/or forthright principles, to the inner depths of subliminal indoctrination...
It is only the ability of the entity to detect and refine that which is placed before them, that will eventually lead them to their own, personal and irrefutable truth….
Yummy discussion...
I sense "programming or external influences" have alot to do with each observer's determinations or opinions. However, I feel that is the "challenging" part of the game of Life on Earth. I also believe we have agreed to our unique challenges of "detecting and refining," before we were born, into this lifetime. It seems that this process would produce many different perspectives on Earthly issues. ![]()
(I also believe we have agreed to our unique challenges of "detecting and refining," before we were born, into this lifetime.)
Dar, we either agreed or were naturally selected.
Maybe we have already gone through numerous processes and a variety of lives, experiencing and learning; just my thoughts.
Bow...
I rather like the suggestion that we might have been naturally selected... Never thought of that process myself...
Mmmmm... Very interesting...
Further to that, might it be that we are, at a particular time and place in the existance of mankind, ready to participate in some underlying archetypal activity???
underlying archetypal activity??? could you explain?
Bow...
As you're no doubt aware, we all have archetypal aptitudes of one kind or another, whether or not we're healers, teachers [of which there are many kinds] or simply passing mentors... The list is all but endless...
It was just a momentary thought, that during each incarnation, we learn and quantify certain aspects of life, which ~ one might imagine ~ would make some individuals ideal subjects to pass such understandings on to others... Not so much from a programmed state: more akin to a qualified one...
Giving ~ is one of the most important factors of; and within life... Some souls will no doubt be primed for such placement: as, when and where necessary….
Again ~ just a passing thought…
Dar, we either agreed or were naturally selected.
Maybe we have already gone through numerous processes and a variety of lives, experiencing and learning; just my thoughts.
"Agreed or naturally selected through choice"......, in my humble opinion and understanding...., both are of the same, so I believe "we have already gone through numerous processes and a variety of lives, experiencing and learning." Free Will to me is universal and not just to the physical realm of Earth. I sense multiple embodiments over many different "timelines," but all "agreed or naturally selected through choice" (sort of viewing a naturally selected list of....to do's...."should I do this now...or should I do that now...., heh) This how I view "everything happens for a reason, in lieu of our free will choices, which just determine how rough or smooth the ride will be..," within one's karmic wheel. The same with evolution and creation are both true..., in my mind. This type of thinking doesn't often align with logic, in the thinking of a human mind. Perhaps, more confusing for me to explain....heh.
Sorry, if I make no sense. ![]()
It was just a momentary thought, that during each incarnation, we learn and quantify certain aspects of life, which ~ one might imagine ~ would make some individuals ideal subjects to pass such understandings on to others... Not so much from a programmed state: more akin to a qualified one...
hmmmm......, with the vastness of possibilities of everything...heh,.....this seems more probable..., to me. I have thought this same ideal, not long ago....., and how wonderful to see come from another. great comment.![]()
Does the weather affect your mood, how you feel, think, behave, or your outlook on life?
I know there is a condition called Seasonal Affective Disorder that is caused by too little sunlight, which causes the body's time clock to go out of sync, but I was thinking more generally.
The Atmospheric pressure changes, and the seasons can affect the way we feel; Bright days with full sun are positively stimulating whereas cold wet days have a negative effect.
With winter approaching, how do you overcome the winter blues?
Bow ...
Despite being something of a Sun worshiper, I don't tend to get those depressed feeling when that dazzling orb snuggle up to the horizon for four or five months...
I tend to keep focused on the fact that spring is not that far away and that even at the end of October, the shortest day is only just around the corner and that it won't be long, before we start to climb the ladder once again...
Mind you, I have known people where seasonal changes have a very marked influence on how they conduct themselves... And, to the extreem, I noted in one particular case, that some form of phcyco-somatics was playing a leading role...
To be sure, I'm pleased I don't suffer from these emotional swings and roundabouts... It's been a difficult enough journey, to reach a point where little or nothing influences me in any way, without having encountered those seasonal disorders...
Everything influences me deeply.
I've been pondering all morning about Sarvo's reply and have no wish to counter that which he's said: in any way... So I can only comment (from my own perspective) on that which I see and/or feel has been beneficial to me...
I too ~ in times gone by ~ was influenced by many things ~ some worthy: some not... Eventually I came to the conclusion that influence was something akin to an educational process that all will go through as they formulate some sort of philosophy relating to life, the many aspects of such and all that surrounds them... To that extent, influence must play a leading role in that: which one might eventually become...
I'd also considered (at least in my own case) that the time would arrive, when influence ~ in the fundamental approach to the above ~ might not only be unnecessary: but detrimental to the furtherance and/or stabilization of ~ my personal: philosophical approach to those aforementioned aspects...
Would or could one not reach a point, where ~ from an established perspective ~ influence was replaced by inspiration???
In general, I've found this to be the case, for these days, I find worthwhile stimulation in many things that transpire within (and outside of) my life...
RE Sarvo's saying "Everything Influences Me Deeply"
Couldn't agree with you more Robbie.
It seems like a vague remark that puts everything on the same level.
The suffering in Darfur and many other places can't equate to eating an ice cream cone.
Both are considered part of "everything".
Sometimes I feel he likes to show his knowledge of all the correct names and terms involving Spirutuality which of course he does possess on a high level.
Also , is nothing part of everything if everything includes all. Such as they did nothing to help.
Would it be fair to say "Nothing Influences Deeply " of couse not.
I think a more likely statement would be "Every Influences me to a certain degree".
Thanks,
John
As you so rightly put it John... Sarvo certainly has a very high level of understanding where not only spiritual matters are concerned, but also within the parameters of life itself ~ and I for one: have the greatest respect for him where such is concerned...
His reply did give me the opportunity to look at the differences between being influenced by prevailing events and/or standing clear of them, which was something I'd not taken into account before: in such a meaningful way...
It's quite interesting how so few words can have such a profound impact... So in that respect, I found his reply somewhat beneficial to me...
Perhaps others could lend their points of view to the subject, with a view to expanding our knowledge further along the suggested: or parallel lines...
Would or could one not reach a point, where ~ from an established perspective ~ influence was replaced by inspiration???
Yes, in my humble opinion. Great comment, which was very inspirational for me, in itself. I am very attracted or drawn to anything that is inspirational, and I am able to better recognize it, when it comes my way. This wasn't the case several years ago. I am almost addicted to the "vibe" of these moments, now. In a long past post, I stated how I wish I could just meditate and live peacefully on a mountain top, somewhere. However, I had just as strong of a pull to help all I could, wherever I could, in the best way I could, and not just myself. This created some frustration between inspiration and influences, as there are many non-inspirational moments in activism too. So as I continue to ponder on myself being in this pickle....., I sense that I am meant to find that "flower growing from the concrete" environment that I live in. Perhaps, I am to see the inspiration in things all around me, beyond the static and influence of it. Next year, I am looking to shift less energy to activism, as changes take over within humanity. I suspect my radar will be in sync to inspirational moments, even more..., at that time...heh. ![]()
I need to quote you here Dar, because (for me at least) your words are quite profound...
"I sense that I am meant to find that "flower growing from the concrete" environment that I live in."
As I understand it, within the confines of any well-written words there are messages or imaginative perspectives which stand to be revealed... It is the ability to distinguish the beauty and prospects of the flower, as opposed to the triviality of the weed, where the essence of enlightenment comes to the fore...
This was something that lifted the spirits of many, during the period when (in many cities ~ and even as a child, I was witness to this) homes and businesses lay in ruins long after bombing raids had ceased... The flower was that which sprang from the debris, standing out like a phoenix rising from the ashes of death and destruction...
Such is the way different or new approaches to life (and all that encompasses it) can issue forth from a simple, well formulated statement...
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on the subject...
Sarvo’s words; ‘Everything influences me deeply’, has most certainly caused an affect here on this thread. Just goes to show how a few words can open a thought within someone and trigger a response....
As Robbie said: It's quite interesting how so few words can have such a profound impact...
Our spoken words originate and reflect our thoughts; thoughts reflect feelings and a minimal amount of words have the power to convey so much: great ideas, thoughts and emotions, which can have lasting effects, both positively and negatively…
In just a second, they can create the most enchanting vision: or shatter everything…
Is the intention behind the words where the real power lies?
Bow...
Greetings
"Every Influences me to a certain degree" - I liked that, John.
We live in a world of energies. Materia is condensed energy according to science and we do are influenced by all those energies, but in different degrees. Go close to a waterfall and you will se how vivid you will feel. It's not mystical. It's pure Physics.
I would like to say that weather causes no impression to me, but unfortunatelly I can't. I live in a tropical country and I hate warm weather. I have low blood pressure and I feel lazy and irritaded with the Summer heat.
Today I was watching some YouTube videos and I found one, about Africa. The "soundtrack" was Michael Jackson's song called "Man in the Mirror". The lyrics said "If you wanna make the world a better place take a look at yourself and make that change". And at that moment I began to "look at the mirror" and think about my life. I did many voluntary works but did they make that change? Then, as my thoughts were flowing, I remembered this thread - about influence and inspiration - and the most principal question to me is not what influences me, but in what extent my thoughts influences the world. Heat can irritate me and snow may depress somebody else. But what about anger and indiference? What kind of waves we emit while we are angry? Do they affect another person? I think so, and it increases a lot my responsability towards the world.
Have a nice week you all.
Again ~ I need to quote ~ and this time it's Bow's words...
"Is the intention behind the words where the real power lies?"
My thoughts may differ from others' reasoning’s, but I'd say: most certainly ~ whether that power and/or intent be realized: or not...
When submitting a response or even when starting a new topic, I'd like to think it was somewhat important to at least make an attempt to include a message within the context of the post, or perhaps generate thoughts in the mind(s) of the reader(s)...
The method used (within the whole) to put across that which needs to be said, should ~ in some respects ~ reflect the intent... So! The words used in the composition might demonstrate the power of intent; its compilation the means of conveyance; so that an understandable translation of the message emerges…
That ~ in my humble, considered opinion ~ makes or breaks a submission... I know it’s not possible to achieve that every time, but it does help if at least some attempt is made to keep everything in perspective…
Is the intention behind the words where the real power lies?
My answer would be, Yes. To me, this is the "magic," behind the power of prayer and healing. I believe intent can also be a "teacher"..., moreso...., than the words..., in many situations. Sometimes "words" can be used with "unbalanced" intent or intent that isn't truly aligned with the given words. In these situations, it seems one can learn much more of the different vibrations of communication, which helps one be more productive in their responses and understand another's true intent. Although, for me..., it's a continuous life-long process of learning...heh, heh. ![]()
I think similar to John, with an understanding that "everything influences me in different or specific degrees." Some subtly and some profoundly..., dependent on my awareness and "grounding" at the moment, heh.
It seems that one does have a responsibility to maintain their ripples of intent within words and actions to be harmonic and positive throughout one's surroundings, of this lifetime. ![]()
Over the years, I have recommended books and such to those who are asking many questions with a thirst to gain others perspectives. The list of my favorites, were the traditional ones that many come across within researching World Religions and Belief systems. Today, there are many more "newer" authors putting out some good stuff, in my opinion. I am also a strong believer in energy healing.
However, something has really been "irking" me, for lack of a better word..., about how a "market" seems to be developing in the area of "Spirituality." Please, I mean no offense to anyone who is profiting off from this work, I am only wanting to see if others are noticing the same wave of "business." To me, anyone can learn energy healing, if there intentions are strongly aligned with it. I am really sad that the average cost for a "healing or reiki" session is around $70.00, an hour. I host another spiritual group for mothers, and I am often asked for recommendations. The market is so saturated with "books" and most are saying the same thing.
To me, the people who really need chakra or energy healing, are the ones who can't afford it. I would love to see this cost decreased on these type of services. I ponder on what will happen to all my books and journals...., as my family isn't interested in my massive collection.
They have yet to recognize their own spark of life, to be interested in anything that isn't materialistic. I hope one day, they will awaken...., to their own awe...
So I was thinking that I could get some suggestions on an organization that I could donate my books, after I leave this lifetime. I guess I am looking for the best place that those who can't afford to buy books, can still attain them free of charge. ![]()
Sorry Agnes, I know your intentions are sound, but we don't allow pictures and/or links of any discription in topics or threads on this group.

I appreciate how difficult it may be for you to express your thoughts and feelings regarding this person, but the group guide-lines have been formulated for particular reasons and as such, there cannot be any allowances made: whatever the circumstance...
There are many situations and events that take place in the world today and many people suffer from the consequences of them... There are also many groups that take those occurrences to heart; discussing the matters in depth and to great lengths...
But here, we try to confine our thoughts and considerations to that which pertains to our own members and their particular or individual outlooks on life and/or that which transpires within or beyond such...
