Result of a lost cause.

Are we here for a reason; to serve some grand purpose in the 'great scheme of things'? Applying logic to the question, the answer might be,’ yes’, we are here for a reason; That being the case we have to conclude that our existence must be necessary, and yet, the human race is having a lethal impact upon the world.

Our outsized sense of self-importance is matched by our very real ability to wipe out virtually all life as we know it; we use the resources as if they were laid down over the various eras simply for our benefit alone, it seems ironic that we continually ignore the world around us and still continue to exist.

We foresee the possibility of going to other planets, but, will we then merely use up the resources there? In doing so, would we become nothing more than diseased and deranged parasites, moving across the Universe: seeking new hosts to infect? So what is our reason for being here, are we writing our destiny? Or destroying it?

In conclusion, if every human thought, word and deed is a Cause that sets off a wave of energy throughout the universe, Is that which is taking place, the Karmic result of a lost cause???

The goal of all life, whether plant, animal or mineral, is to be happy. The question is whether or not my happiness will require the suffering of others. According to the Vedas man started to trade away his divine right to happiness for personal power five thousand years ago, at the beginning of this present age of Kali. There's no such thing, however, as a "lost cause". Quitting is not an option. There is always hope. We have to reclaim our actual original spiritual identity as co-creators of this entire cosmic manifestation. The best way to do that is by becoming instruments of the divine will. All various scriptures of the world give a rich source of archetypal information that can help all people delve into profound concepts that might otherwise remain closed to the bulk of humanity. Unfortunately the severe damage inflicted on religions of the world by those desiring nothing more than material pleasure, has taken a heavy toll and now most people have become more or less faithless. A properly directed renewal of faith directed by those with genuine confidence in a positive and worthwhile outcome can make a huge difference. It's like Victor Hugo said, "Nothing moves more forcefully in the world than an idea whose time has come."

Interesting that others are thinking similar things as I am, these days. I think it is a possibility, that the historical and current events, could be a Karmic result of a lost cause, in one perspective. I am amazed at how many people I know that are changing, some in positive ways and some in negative ways. However, the ones swaying negative could be in that phase for a greater purpose to their own soul, and could sway back into a powerful positive drive.

I have caught myself mumbling, as I work with activism, some negative comments to myself of the human race. I quickly ground myself to embracing positive emotion, that there is a "greater purpose" that I am not realizing, at this moment. Long ago, when I was first realizing that we aren't the only life in this universe, I would ask myself..."why did I come to THIS planet? why Earth, which seems like the insane asylum of the universe?" Surely, there is another planet out there, that I could have learned and lived with purpose......

I don't ask myself this question, anymore. To me, if I chose to come to this planet, during these transitional times, then there is a powerful reason that I just can't recognize...., yet. Or perhaps..., if I look deeper...., I will see the beautiful planet and beautiful reasons of why I am here, today. So.., I have been working with this concept for many years now, and eventhough I still stumble, I try to keep remembering that I can't conclude too much, until I have reached my fullest human potential, in this lifetime. For me, it is all about tending my words, thoughts and deeds with positive intent, as these ripples can profoundly affect everything that surrounds me.

Since the Sun is estimated to last another 4 or 5 billion years, I guess the human race could planet hop around this solar system, if a civilization can make it long enough, before destroying itself. I don't think "time travel" is an option for lifeforms of this third dimensional Earth, but I could be wrong. It boggles my mind to watch a race of beings spend oodles of money to venture to other planets, before they figure out how to live on this one, in harmony.

Good morning everybody,

Sarvo has said "The goal of all life, whether plant, animal or mineral, is to be happy." I partially agree. But what kind of happiness?  The concept of hapiness varies according to one's objectives, and any discussion about that would lead us, one more time, to talk about peace, tranquility and mental comfort.

In my opinion, we are here for some purpose and these purposes varies too, according to each incarnation.  Some are here to learn, others to discover things, others to help a special person or humanity as a whole, others to help animals, others to help people.... but what is common to all of us is that we are here  to improve ourselves and to become a better person, evolving every day.

Greetings,

I agree with Ana

What I think varies is the time needed to realize the purpose of our individual task at hand.

As far as happiness goes I think it applies to mainly humans because we experience the whole spectrum of emotions.
Other animals can seem to be happy such as lion cubs playing but they are actually fine tuning their survival skills.
As far as plants and minerals you lose me Sarvo.
Plants happiness can only go as far as being healthy,
Minerals are incaple of feelings so you can tickle a copper penny every day for 60 years and you will never here a giggle from Lincoln.
Will our happiness cause the suffering of others I have to agree sometimes it can.
All clothing and many other products are byproducts of sweat shops abusing adults and children.
If you include animals as others than meat eaters would have to be included as indirrectly causing suffering.
Lost causes are like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
A lost cause to some may be an example of a ridiculous cause to others.

Thanks for Listening,
John

Is there really a need for happiness???

Whilst I agree in part with most who have commented here, I think Ana has really focused on the main points ~ and I quote:

"Some are here to learn, others to discover things, others to help a special person or humanity as a whole, others to help animals, others to help people"...

It is within such realms, that we enter archetypal categories and realities...  It takes time to reach a conclusion, as to which or what we might be...  Once realized, it then revolves around total acceptance of and contentment with; all that comes our way: brushing all other thoughts and feelings to one side...

As I understand it, one has no need to try and build a way of life or destiny, commensurate with that which is already planned, because (I for one) do not know the 'reason' for my projected 'purpose'...

Further to that, happiness is a peak in presentation; so therefore: such a level is unnessary shouldn't even enter into the equation...

Mind you, these thoughts are my appreciation of how things work for me...  Not necessarily an idealism supported by others...
