It is spring at last! I think! May 04, 2005 9:35 PM

Well, I have discovered that my new yard has some lovely tulips, there are grape hyacinth all thru the grass in the back yard and violas making a striking contrast against the dandylions! I think we have 3 peach trees too! I dug up a flower bed and planted calendula and chervil. Then it snowed for 2 days! (Well the seed pkts DID say that they could be planted as soon as the soil could be worked in the spring, LOL! the ground wasn't frozen or muddy...!) I sure hope they make it! How is everyone else doing this spring? Are you too busy in the garden to brag about what you have coming up! Hugs! Trish G  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

I do have many beautiful flowers in the garden. Mostly, tulips with a lot of pretty colors. Mostly, purple and pink. I have some hyacinths also.......... pink, purple, and white. I have an album, if you would like to see my gardens. I have some pictures, I had taken when everything wasn't in flower yet. Some of the flowers are flowered. But, I have more recent ones that have a lot more flowers that have come up since then. There are also flowers from last year, and the year before. Please feel free to comment on the album...........  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
hey May 14, 2005 11:40 AM

I just moved into a new place as well..I have tulips too.and grape vines and a peach tree,2 walnuts and a beautiful horse chestnut with bright pink flowers.Sadly I ahve discovered that the back yard is notning but weeds.I f I did the weed and feed thing I would have 3 blades of grass.I brought some of my favorite plants from my old home but wish I could have taken them all.Now I haver to start over.Good thing my mother lives close by and has an amazing garden that I can steal seedlings from.I also have some roses in my new yard.I have never actually grown roses, simply because I moved alot and didn't want to spend that kind of money. Can anyone here tell me what it means if the leaves have light yellow to white spots on them and are starting to curl...I though it might be magnesium deficience.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
I am not an expert May 14, 2005 8:52 PM

On roses. I've planted them at several homes, but never stayed in one place more than two years after they were planted. One place I read that if you plant garlic and parsley around the roses it will keep some of the bugs off naturaly. I don't know much else except that I love them! We planted a climbing peace rose by the front porch. I think it will look pretty climbing up the porch. Now it looks like we may be moving again. sigh! I look forward to checking out the pictures in your album, Brenda. I got a few pictures of the tulips in our yard before we got hail! Sadly, they didn't fare well! I want to get my tomatoes and cucumbers planted outside this weekend, and plant the rest of my flowers. Love to get my hands dirty! LOL : D  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
