After the rain July 12, 2005 6:04 PM

We have been so dry in the Midwest the grass is brown and the fears of farmers losing their soybean and corn crops has been a worry. But today we got hammered with big beautiful drops of rain for three hours and then a steady shower. The gardens are so happy! The flowers have perked up and the smells are phenomenal and full of life. It is as though all of the plants have said (((((thank you)))))).  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
What a difference! July 19, 2005 8:07 AM

In the Maritimes we've been crying for sun! It's been gray and wet since May, with the odd blistering hot sunny day. Everything was planted late. My garden is coming, but the pumpkins and sunflowers will be late. I'm only now eating lettuce and spinach (a week or so off, compared to your climes). My Tom Thumb tomatoes are doing well though. Great to see your continued posts Eileen.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
