I just got an invitation to join this group and since the cause is very worthwile and sincere, I'm glad to be here. I will do whatever I can to help you save the albatrosses of the world. My name is Carina and I live in Sweden.
Hello I have been busy with my garden. Welcome to new members. I live in Vermont. So it has been pretty warm here. I am glad to be a part of this group!
Katia L.for inviting me. I am Jessie and I live in Italy where I try to do my little bit. I volunteer at our local (no-kill) dog shelter and also at our local old age home. I also work as an English teacher and have the family etc. I cannot promise to be online a lot but I will get the daily digest and do what I can when there is something to do or read.
Oh, yes, the name is not very Italian, I know - I was actually born and brought up in Namibia, went to university in Cape Town before I met my Italian husband and moved to Italy. I have spent more of my life in Italy than anywhere else so I feel very Italian - except when I bitch about something.
Thanks for the invite Geoff. I am a major animal activists living in Texas....I hope to help you save these adorable creatures before it is too late..i look forward to helping you in any way I can!!
Great group...I work with the birds here in NZ but of course this is a global problem that local solutions can only help with if they are are applied every where

Hi Geoff, Thanks for the invitation and hello to all the other members,
I watched a documentary in the UK which was showing many endangered species and the Albatros was one of these.
Simple measures were shown to fisherman, like dyeing the bait blue, which put them off, and also attaching coloured ribbons on the longlines, this really seemed to deter them. It was terrible seeing them caught and dying, and leaving their mates and chicks on the nest to suffer and often die to...heartbreaking..
Geoff!
for the invite!
I'll admit, I'm not real familiar with the Albatross,
beyond the Monty Python routine with John Cleese in the
movie theatre (anyone else seen that?),
but I know I'll learn more here.
I'm glad you have the welfare of ALL animals at heart
in this group, my personal faves being
Bright Blessings to all!

Thank you for the invitation, Geoff. It's lovely to be amongst more animal- loving people who really care. I love all animals, but I'm particularly fond of birds. It's awful to think of any species becoming extinct.
Hi Geoff. for the invite. I finally have more than 10 hours of Internet per month, (lol) so I should be back here.
Have a wonderful week everybody!!! *hugs*

I was quite stunned when I heard that the Albatross was in danger of going extinct Since the only mail I get are bills & flyers. I decided to give a donation to Bird Life International. I wanted to learn more about the Albatross and how to help them when I got the invitation. for the opportunity to do so.
Thanks Geoff for inviting me to join this wonderful group. I have been extremely concerned about the plight of the albatross for sometime now, and your effort to get the message out there through this group will definitely make a difference. When I update the "Many Hands Network" on my site www.greatmysterypublishing.com I will include a link "Save the Albatross".
G'Day Geoff and everyone. I am not sure how I found this group bit I am glad that I did. The albatross is one of my favourite birds. Here's to getting rid of longlining around the globe.
I saw this group thanks to a post on the En Act UK group. The plight of the albatross is close to my heart ever since reading about it in the RSPB magazine. Lets hope we can make a difference and save these magnificent birds.
