Beauty All Gone!!

I am an Albatross, Oh, just a bird you say,

What if your children one day do say.

What is  an Albatross, can I see one?

No my child, see what the world has done.

They did not care, and the beauty is gone,

For the love of money, everything went wrong.

They were killed, and their  babies left to die,

Listen closely, and you can hear them cry.

They cry for you, and they cry for me,

Their grace and  beauty, we can no longer see.

The world is not the same anymore,

Too many times the world closed the door.

We lived for today, no thought of tomorrow,

We paid no attention to the death and sorrow. 

The legacy we leave for you now, is sad for sure,

But we lived for today, now you must endure.

Our eyes were closed, no thought did we give,

To the beauty all gone , and how our children would live.

A beauitiful poignant poem that provides a warning to us all. We cannot let it happen. For the sake of our children and their children the albatross must not become just a memory.
