The Animal Rights Movement's Backfire: Time for a Major Shift April 15, 2007 6:57 PM

The Animal Rights Movement's Backfire: Time for a Major Shift

The AR movement’s mistakes have failed nonhuman animals. What we are witnessing now, for the first time since the movement started in the sixties and seventies, is that the movement isn't advancing, but going backwards. Find out how you can change that...

i dont see the AR movement going backwards. in fact many fantastic changes have been coming about for animals.

more and more poeple are becoming aware and changes are happening.

Perhaps, you should read the article first...

Again i do not see the AR movement moving backwards. the article has some good points the main one being that till everyone goes vegan or at least veg there will be animals slaughtered for food. untill we make the public aware of the cruelty and unnessary use of animals for food, clothes, entertainment , testing and experiments it will continue.

the problem is the vegan/veg people dont get tv and radio ads or billboards going. the meat companies advertize daily to brainwash people into eating meat. we dont contract that advertizing with vegan or veg lifestyle ads.

there are some good groups out there making headway, but it is slow because we are trying to change the publics opionion one person at  a time. it will take major advertizing and showing poeple what goes on in factory farms and slaughter houses to get the public to change thier opionions.

i still get frustrated that vegan/veg groups do not do major advertizing instead of just talking and signing petitions.

ads could be run daily showing how the vegan/veg lifestyle is compassionate towards animals and makes you healthier and feel better.

ads like the ones for milk could be run that would make poeple think. but we dont run any ads on tv radio or even mag or newspapers.

I understand what the article is saying. but i personnaly think AR activists are too accepting. we should not accept any animal abuse in any manner. we need to be more vocal, more passionate and be fighting for real change not just welfare changes.

animals need us to fight for them as if it was our lives or our own childrens lives we were fighting for.
