You will LOVE this George Harrison story ... March 26, 2007 6:42 AM

In 2004 I met an absolutely beautiful woman at a Jai Karunamayi [me Mum! AMMA!] event -- the closing FIRE PUJA -- up in the Front Range of the Rockies, 3000-ft. above Boulder, where I was living at the time. Her name was, she told me, VaVa ... which it turned out meant "Vuika Andrich ... Vedic Astrologer." She was Yugoslavian, and really a rare beauty, with long greying hair down to her calves, with really glistening blue eyes -- the whole package. We really hit it off and I decided to have her do my Vedic Astrology Chart ... for $140.00 -- a lot of money for a poor old Monk like me. When the day came for me to have my reading, recorded and all, with lunch, I set off to her home in Gunbarrel, a suburb of Boulder. Sitting in her office, getting my reading, I kept noticing to my left this huge framed picture of two people sitting at a table, in what looked like some ancient mansion or something. After the reading was over I turned to the picture and said: "Vava, who is that man ... my gosh, that is George Harrison, isn't it? And that must be you as a young woman. Sitting at that big Oak Table, having some time with George. How did you meet him?" Vava replied that she used to bop around with the Beattles when they were just getting going, and that George picked up on her and invited her to go everywhere with them. "That picture was taken in his Castle, and it was before Olivia came into his life. We really didn't have that great a chemistry, but I still love him very much." "He has always been my favorite Beattle, because he was more into Electronic Music, my thing, than the others. Of course, both George and John are heros of mine," I said, wanting to hear more. "It was very, very hard and sad when he passed away. I really felt the loss. He was a great being," said Vava -- something like that. So we had lunch and sat at her dining room table and discussed CHESS and Himalayan Singing Bowls. She still has, on loan, a few of my bowls, and I do look forward to seeing her again. But I think that she has gone off to New York, to be with her daughter, who is a model there. Vava said about Vedic Astrology, "I decided when I was getting close to thirty, that I would do something ... one thing ... really well. It turned out to be Vedic Astrology." And she is a great astrologer, having people calling her from all over the world. My Great Good Fortune. She told me about my Rahula Period, which was coming to an end in the Spring of 2005. That is the most difficult period in anybodies life, and it lasts for 18 fricken years, sooner or later. "Can you imagine, Kunga," she said, "how people feel when I have to tell them that they are just going into that period of their lives. It lasts, you know, for 18 years!" We both agreed that I was lucky (in more ways than one). Our best date, really, was the time we went for a nice HIKE up in the Boulder foothills -- I couldn't keep up -- and then went to the fine "Sherpa Restaurant" in Boulder, ordered food, sat outside, and began to play a game of CHESS! Her choice, that is what she wanted to do. I used to be a Tournament Player, a USCF Local Tournament Director, and, in 1973, was on the Board of Directors of the U.S. Chess Federation. She was good and she was undaunted. However, I had her number. Uh oh ... it started to RAIN! People left the patio, but we stayed there, eating our food and finishing our game. For me, a pretty egg-head kind of guy, but still a Rock 'n' Roller, it was one of the most romantic evenings that I have ever had. A really sweet movie. I whupped her ass ... I mean ... excuse me. I won the game and that was okay with her, because she was a pretty good player. We did get quite soaked, actually, and were a bit of a "STAIR" when we went into the restaurant to finish up our meal and pay the bill. ACHA ... the good ol' days! My RnR ... "*S*A*M*S*A*R*A* CHAOS QUARTET," out on www.WeirdMusic.com, in Massachusetts, and on the SoniCabal underground electronic music collective in Seattle, where, as a Composer-Musician, I am known as "Storrs Barrett Booch-Williams." You can GOOGLE it! Kindest regards .................... Great Group! Sapan Rinpoche  [ send green star]  [ accepted]

I know how YOU feel about George Harrison, John Lennon, & The Beatles!  I knew YOU had great taste in music and how wonderful to have YOUR presence here!  I enjoyed YOUR story and it is much better than the shortened version I have tried to tell.  I forget who (Randall) told ME that story, but I AM sure he did do it justice...

Hi all,

You have your gitaurist Kunga, complete with a book of Beatles songs. I have to say that I love George Harrison's music (but this is obvious since I am a member of this group). Most of my favourite Beatles songs are written by him.

I loved the Beatles all my life, but then it's very hard not to, especially when your father played you 'Let it Be' as a lullabye.

It's actually one of my first memories (true story).

Love and Light

they are saying - we've got two kind of people in the World .. the Beatles men and the Rolling Stones men.

Hello Morgan, you seem to be a natural born Beatles man.

I remember when I was a kid, their music used to play back compulsively in my head like a record player - wherever I did go - especially when I was on the run away from home. I was born in Poland and obviously I didn't speak English, so I didn't understand a word, but the precise sound of music and words were always there in my personal "jukebox". In time I developed this skill to create & playback the music in my head the way people do it today on computers.

Welcome Onboard, Morgan!

Once Upon a Time... September 18, 2007 4:09 PM

I once dated a guy and we would have fun playing our acoustic guitars and he always preferred the Rolling Stones' Music, and I, of course, being the more intelligent of the two, would start playing and singing, "In My Life," from the Rubber Soul Album, or one of the other Beatles' ballads I so loved. George Harrison was a remarkable soul...one who was more incredible than was readily discerned by the teeny boppers who were busy screaming and fainting in the sixties. Both he and John were of the more evolved, vibrational musicians, men and legends among the group & among the world. It was such a tragedy and loss when they left us, though, ever they shall remain in our music, our memories and most of all, our hearts.  [ send green star]  [ accepted]
