October 23, 2009 5:57 PM sometimes in the past when the influx actually slows down --we even have pulled out an overlooked adult kitty and fixed them--then returned them to the pound to see if they can find a home that way. it saves on boarding expenses---and it has worked a few times. Just seems like there's never going to be a slowdown this year......kitten season officially ends nov 1 hopefully the cats are watching the calendar [ send green star]

November 01, 2009 6:38 PM thanks everyone and especially carol! let's hope that many black kitties will be winners also! the longest lived cat i ever had was a black cat, polydactyl too. his name was bigfoot (of course). he is the only cat that i knew his exact birthday and the person who owned his mother. R.I.P. Biogfoot 2-22-1982 to 8-11-2000 (or 2001, i'm not sure. it was a rough period in my life and my records contradict each other.) [ send green star]

November 01, 2009 6:42 PM oh and i want to mention that the picture was taken outside but bigfoot was strictly an indoor cat like the other 7 cats i had at that time. see how well behaved he was. placed in unfamiliar territory (our front yard) he remained put rather than try to run off or run inside. He was suspose to be a foster but i fell to much in love with him and he is mine now and i LOVEEEEE this cat. Infact i have 12 in the house that were suspose to be fosters but they became mine.
