Hello, I'm Shane! I'm not sure I'd say I'm in my "enlightened state", because for me to say that, I fear it may cause me to become complacent, and not seek more. Anyhow, I suppose I'm enlightened enough to know that I will forever be a student, no matter what knowledge I gain. I feel I'm here to live, to love, and to learn. As for specifics, I find myself of late becoming more and more driven to finding a clear, and secure system of living, that I can introduce to the world as an alternative to the rat race we live in, now. I'm not part of, and will not accept the label of belonging to any one religion, I'm sort of a cherry-picker, meaning I take what makes sense, and adopt it, discarding the rest. I do believe in God, as well as Christ, but, as to their nature, I disagree with organized religion's Darth Vader-esque portrayal. On a more tangible plane, I'm 27, I grew up on Long Island, NY. I'm a big fan of loud rock music, sci-fi and horror movies, the only sport I can watch on TV without being bored out of my skull is hockey, though I do like PLAYING sports. I'm a huge WWE fan, and also watch Ghost Hunters, UFO Files/Hunters religiously.

Warren, posting images can be achieved pretty easily.  First bring up image you wish to capture, either here on Care2 or on the Net.  Right click on the image, and you will see a box come up - at the very bottom of the box is a "Properties."  Left click on it & the images http should come up.  Highlight, copy and then simply paste into the two sections that come up when you left clik on the little tree icon on the top of the reply box.  When you insert in both boxes you simply then insert again where it asks you too.  And there you are - an image in your reply box. 

Am still working on embedded videos, which for some reason I still cannot get to completely load, thus the reference many times simply to the URL.

Hello everyone, I finally made it here after many invites from dearest Ani. Thanks for being patient with me as I seem to procastinate... or is it time is just flying by so quickly??? Just substitute "Mormon" for "Catholic" and the rest applies to me, too. I was introduced to the concept of "The Power of the Universe" by a dear friend in the early 90's. The belief system is that each of us has "karma" or "energy" and how we choose to use that karma is returned to us. I must be doing something right, as I have been very blessed. I definitely fit the spiritual but not religious category. I believe in treating all people, places, and things as I would like to be treated. It has come back to me hundred fold.

In spite of many physical health and mental health challenges, my life at the age of 64 is better than it has ever been. I have been taught much by the challenges that have come my way. I am a stronger person for them.

I teach an exercise class for people with chronic pain. My students' favorite part of the class is the 5-8 minute guided meditation or just sitting quietly at the end of class. It is amazing to me the positive energy that flows throughout the room.

Just as the energy flows throughout this group. I have read several of the posts and I'm grateful to Elizabeth for inviting me. I have not joined several other groups due to time constraints, but this group called strongly to me.

My name is Lisa but I prefer to go by ZenHarmony, and I guess you would call me a seeker, more than anything!  I've had the organized religion route, everything from Baptist to Catholic, growing up in foster care, but found that the hypocrisy and abuse had left me reluctant to explore spirituality further.  I look forward to reading the ideas and ideals on this forum and hopefully, contributing actively in the future.

I cherish my immediate family, which consists of three children - two girls, 19 and 17, both of whom have left home, and a boy, 15.  Up until this morning, I also had a wonderful husband of just over a year and a half, who has decided that he hates my children and had to be sent away, in order to preserve my son's sanity.  As a result, I'm feeling rather lost and hurting right now, and vaguely like someone has removed my right arm... but I'm in there and despite the bad feelings, I'm confident I'll be back to my usual self soon! 

Thank you for your patience with me and looking forward to getting back to that blissful state!
