Great news for Yellowstone National Park!

For close to 15 years, Greater Yellowstone Coalition and supporters like you have helped lead the charge, asking for a cleaner and quieter Yellowstone.

Over the years, we pushed to:

  • reduce air pollution,
  • protect the quiet of a Yellowstone winter, and
  • make the Park safer for wildlife.

Overall, we hoped for a cleaner and quieter Yellowstone because we knew wildlife already experienced one of the harshest winter environments.

Today, we celebrate! With the release of the Final Winter Use Rule, we know Yellowstone is better protected each winter, now and in the future!

We just spoke with Yellowstone National Park Superintendent Dan Wenk. We want to congratulate him for listening to our members and including our request to require Best Available Technology standards in snowmobiles as soon as 2015. This will reduce harmful carbon monoxide and hydrocarbon emissions.

We thank our members over the years for all their support. It's now time to celebrate and enjoy the magic of Yellowstone this winter, and for years to come.

For a Greater Yellowstone,

NOW:
Today, the park is cleaner and quieter, with a variety of ways to visit and experience the wonders of Yellowstone.
