Another WARMMMMMM one today beginning then thunderstorm for most of the day with tornado warning.(Luckily no sight of any)Rest of day a bit sunny and clearer and alot cooler.The garden was well watered today.

debra, read your impressive intro...funny "coincidence" or maybe not?

in 1992 after reading a frightening cover article on tigers and their plight in TIME, i drafted a rather impressive letter to Exxon/Mobil, and collected about 1000 signatures from everyone i could find, recommending their start the "Save the Tiger Fund."

i had it all spelled out, how they would benefit, the tigers would benefits, blah, blah, blah.  but i was dead serious and copies every member of the board of the company, sending the original letter to the chairman and ceo, as well as every major city newpaper in the nation.

sure enough, i got my "dear john" letter back from PR, explaining how Exxon already does all this work and makes $1 million annually in contributions to "save the tiger efforts."  when i wrote back saying it simply wasn't enough, again copying everyone i could, another response never came.

but...when i saw years later Exxon had "stolen" my idea i was never more pleased...
