I just wanted to welcome everyone to Back to the Village.
Membership has grown quite a bit lately! There are a number of people who I have not yet met. I hope to get to know each one of you!
A big village cheer to you!

Well, you are there, I am here!
Perhaps I should change the settings to show icons?! Sorry about that!
I am back for now! Thanks for the welcome back!

Thank you!
I had today off because it is Thanksgiving here in Canada so I have spent most of the evening on Care2. I will be back to being busy but I will be checking in daily.

I've travelled through many villages in India since many years, some very remote and tribal. My experiences are varied.
In India, every region is different from the other. Language and traditions change within a distance of 400 miles. The culture and traditions are very varied in India. Beliefs are equally varied. Gods and Goddesses aplenty.
Thats unreal to me the languages would Chang in 400 miles.Do you know all the languages?I have never ben no where much, sounds neat.As long as the weather was warm no cobras though.

Hi Everybody! I am one who is ready for returning to community sharing and reducing one's dependence upon ever-growing mass-controlling comglomerate food producers (ie. Coca-Cola buying up Organic Food Producers/Chains). We need to know where our food comes from, and to enjoy the "fruits" of our labour! Community gardens/farmer's markets, if we simplify our lives, we need not go far for fresh food, which I believe is the heart of a village. Villagers unite! : ))
That is not what this group is about! Although that is what everyone keeps thinking it is about!
I am searching for a place to live. I am not looking to make a made up place like we have been doing so far where people have roles to farm or whatever.
I created this group to find a place that offers culture, good living, and history. Know of a place?
Well, now I see. You are shopping. Why not try Nelson, BC! Or, perhaps the Ha' 'apai Archipelago in Tonga. The best I've seen for culture and history and friendliness other than Fiji/Tonga is Lombok. Other than a few fire bombings between the religious factions, the island is wonderful, and full of smiling faces, beautiful spaces, and traces of human races. Even though it lies east of Bali, it has a population descendent of the Burmese. If I were to pick a place to live it would be on my short list.
