STOP Animal Testing
Procter and Gamble is one of the worlds largest companies who test on animals with products such as Cover Girl, Max factor, Oil of Olay, Secret Deodarant, Clairol, Head & Shoulders, Herbal Essences, Pantene, Pert Plus, Physique, Vidal Sassoon, DayQuil, NyQuil, Pepto-Bismol, PUR Water Filtration System, Crest Toothpaste, Noxzema, Ohm, Ivory and Zest.
Animals are routinely cut open, poisoned, and forced to live in barren steel cages for years, although studies show that because of vast physiological variations between species, human reactions to illnesses and drugs are completely different from those of other animals. Today's non-animal research methods are humane, more accurate, less expensive, and less time-consuming than animal experiments, yet change comes slowly and many researchers are unwilling to switch to superior technological advances. Animal experimentation not only is preventing us from learning more relevant information, it continues to harm and kill animals every year.

A new European Chemical Testing Policy called REACH has now been finalised by the European Union.
Under these proposals Chemicals of every imaginable kind - from those used in industrial processes to the ingredients of consumer products - will be tested on millions of animals from mice to fish to dogs, causing untold suffering.
Still worse, because of this reliance on outdated animal techniques, reliable and relevant information will not be provided and our safety will not be assured.
This is URGENT because Testing is about to start.
If you believe that REACH should make more use of Alternative Testing to test 100,000 Chemicals that have been in general use since before 1985 then please take action now.
If you are a European citizen please contact your local papers and own MEP asking them to promote the development of humane non-animal test methods under the REACH legislation, which is the best hope we have for sparing animals the misery of a testing laboratory.

Chimpanzees who have been imprisoned and experimented on for biomedical research deserve to live out the remainder of their lives with dignity and peace and that is why it is so important to retire them to a permanent sanctuary. Some have been waiting for as long as 40 and 50 years.They have given so much to human's. It is time we do the compassionate thing.

An estimated 10 million tortoises were shipped into the UK for the pet trade between 1890 and 1984 before the initial ban was introduced. This trade is back! … and tortoises are being imported in substantial numbers. However, DEFRA are failing to prevent this illegal trade and are in fact licensing it. These tortoises go through untold misery and often arrive here with chronic worm infestations and dehydrated, which far too often contributes to their early demise.
